Between 1992 and 1995 he was a Senior Banker (Relationship Manager), in charge of Client Relationship Management with some of the largest Portuguese and multinational companies operating in Portugal. In 1996, he established the Capital Markets Department at ABN AMRO in Portugal and later led its entire investment area as Head of Global Financial Markets. Between 2001 and 2005 Alexandre worked at ABN AMRO in London where he took over as Executive Director of the Portfolio Management Department. In 2006 he was then made Managing Director of the Capital Management Group, where he was responsible for managing the ABN AMRO balance sheet worldwide, as Global Head of Portfolio Strategy and Execution and also was a member of the ALCO and Risk Committee at ABN AMRO. There, Alexandre extended the same principles of balance sheet and risk management in the Large Company and Investment Banking Division.
