Aug. 14, 2009 issue of Electronic Times Korea Electric Power Corporation recently announced new corporate vision which aims to earn 14trillion won which will be 700times larger than the current sale of 20 billion won from the green sales. In order to do so, it will invest total of 800billion won by 2020 to secure 7 green technology in IGCC, CCS, nuclear reactor export, smart grid, electric vehicle recharging infrastructure, heat pump and electric energy housing. Aug. 17, 2009 issue of Electronic Times According to research, of all the energy consumed, only 25% of energy is consumed in housing, commerce and in public building. 1/4of all energy is consumed in lighting and cooling and heating of buildings. In terms of carbon dioxice emissions, it comprises 13%. That is the reason why the government is actively pursuing to provide 100 million green homes. Accordingly, interest in heat pumps which can heat and cool whole building is drawing much interest Domestic heat pump market has been growing for the last 20 years. While companies like LG and Century is showing much interest the largest specialty maker Tempia has gone bankrupt which would adversely affect after sales services and negative opinion. However, recent interest in green energy has drawn focus on heat pumps and is likely be selected as national strategic business item. Accordingly, technology necessary for saving energy will be positively reviewed and selected.(heating possible with 20% of kerosene heating cost) 3-2 Foreign heat pump market Heat pump as a symbol in Germany Heating of Japanese water heater market Heat pump is rapidly rising as a symbol of owner's environmental awareness in Germany. Heat pump market has been exploding in recent years. In 2005, 18,500 units were sold and in 2006 sales rose to 44,000 units. At least 55,000 units are expected to sell while some reports forcast the sales will be much greater. The industry predicts shortage of supply to fulfill demand and the waiting time will be prolonged. In switzerland, the sale of heat pump is rising, although not as dramatic as in Germany. Compared to 12,000 units sold previously, it is expected 16,000 units was sold in 2006. About 80% of the units were for new buildings and over half was the air supplier. Source : CCI, Germany Sales of ECOCUTE(Co2 heat pump water heater) continued due to its economy, safety, and environment friendly qualities. Sales grew 60% in 2006. From 2007, sales of ECOCUTE is expected to expand thanks to government support and efforts of manufacturer. Since its introduction in 2001, the demand for ECOCUTE has steadly increased. In particular, electric companies like Mitubishi and Toshiba are most active. Heat pump is considered to alternative energy. Hydrodynamic power generation system Hydrodynamic power generation Uses power generated when the refrigerant is expanded into low pressure state from the high pressure state while cycling during the cooling and heating as the energy source. Use this energy to operate the company made turbine and the generator connected to the turbine generates electricity. The electrical energy generated uses inverters used in solar power generation to reduce power consumption. If generation efficiency is more than the input electrical energy, a storage battery is installed to be used for power source for other equipments.
