Cover image Temperate reef collapse from kelp beds to sea urchin barrens. Image shows the sea urchin Centrostephanus rodgersii grazing within a Tasmanian kelp bed. This sea urchin has undergone recent climate-driven range extension to eastern Tasmania where it has commenced overgrazing of diverse and economically important kelp beds. Its overgrazing success has been facilitated by local overfishing of the predatory spiny lobster Jasus edwardsii, which has reduced kelp bed resilience. (Photo credit: Scott D. Ling.)
