Guide to 4|0, 4|1 & 4|4 You will see 4|0, 4|1, & 4|4 often when ordering with PrintsWell Fulfillment. These terms are a shorthand way to describe if a piece is printed on only one or both sides of a flat sheet. All printing on the front is considered four color for codes and pricing. The difference in codes notate what, if anything, is to be printed on the back. Use this guide to help make sure your files are printed correctly. INSIDE - blank note OUTSIDE FRONT TOP BOTTOM BACK For any files that use the RGB colorspace, black and grey will always contain 4 colors when the file is converted to CMYK for our presses. FRONT note Pronounced “four over one” and means in addition to the front printing, the back of the printed piece will only need black ink printed on it. Only gray or black built with the K value (ranging from 1-100) will count as one color. LOGO TOP INSIDE OUTSIDE BACK folded item Pronounced “four over four” and means the back of the file contains more than just the K in the color profile, in addition to the printing on the front of the file. flat it em 4|4 FOLD BACK logo 4| 1 A logo, or any other printing, on the back flap of the folded card is printed on the front of the sheet and does not change the code. BACK logo 4|0 Pronounced “four over zero” and means only the front side of the file has printing and the other side is completely blank - it has no printing. For folded items this means that there is nothing to print on the inside panels, which is the back of the printed sheet. FRONT Thank you friend for the wonderful gift! Love, Emma BOTTOM *Note: Our HP digital presses use a 4 color CMYK printing process. Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black are the four ink colors used to build a full color spectrum. For best results, set up all of your files in the CMYK color space. PRINTSWELLFULFILLMENT.COM
