Our book fair will be held early that week and I will let everyone know as soon as a day has been set. Our visiting author is Oliver Phommavanh - an Australian author, comedian and teacher! Oliver will conduct a series of workshops on Thursday 25th August for Kindergarten to Year 6 and promises to be highly entertaining, engaging and informative. Further information will be sent home in Term 3 with costs. Friday 26th August is the day of our Kindergarten to Year 2 Book Parade. All students (and their teachers) are requested to dress up as a book character and join in the fun. It is not a competition and a book prize for a participating student from each year will be drawn at random. Please do not go to great expense - this is purely a fun parade to encourage students to share their love of books and characters. If you are struggling for ideas, feel free to contact me and I will share some ideas (but remember, there are many books with princesses, pirates and cowboys, for example). Finally, there was a Bookclub order placed through the office from Issue 3 but the order did not have a name (or even a class) on it and the money was not correct for what was ordered. If any student is still waiting for a book from the last issue, please contact the office! Mrs Freund Teacher in the Library!
