Actress and singer Tina Cole from the 1960s hit TV sitcom "My Three Sons' will star
in a new short movie being filmed in Simi Valley that seeks to raise awareness of the
plight and challenges facing burn survivors.
Twin siders Debbie Vaughn of Canoga Park and Donna Eames of Simi Valley are
producing the approximately 25-minuteJong movie, a fictional drama called "See Me,"
which will be filmed at Eames' Simi Valley home on Oct. 13.
The sisters launched Double Trouble Productions in July to work on the project. They
plan to submit "See Me" to film festivals and screen it at the librld Burn Congress, a

2O14.fhe sisters also are in contact with the Burbank-based Alisa Ann Ruch Burn
Foundation, which plans to hold a screening of 'See Me' with the cast and crew. Bum
survivors affiliated with the foundation will visit the set on the day of filming.

"See Me" depicts the ctrallenges faced by survivors of
debilitating burns. The filmmakers hope their movie will
help raise awareness and lead to an increase in
donations to foundations that assist bum survivors.

The sisers met their first burn survivor while growing up
in New York. Their father saved the life of their next-door
neighbor, who was severely burned as a six-month-old
baby when the girl's baby carriage caught fire. She was
burned all over her body and face, and loS her hearing
as a resuft. said the women, who were childhood triends
with the girl.
"She probably went through hundreds of surgeries as a
child. She didn't know any different. She was amazing,"

"There is a lot more awareness of burn survivors now with J.R. Mariinez being on
'Dancing with the Stars,'' Vaughn added, referring to the former United States Army
soldier and actor who was bumed while serving in lraq
Oiher than the work of Mariinez, who is active in the burn survivor community, there
isn't a lot of awareness of the challenges survivors face, Vaughn said' There are 't 50
bum centers in the United States but mo$ hospitals offer only emergency care, she
said. "Mo$ burn survivors have to fly to get care somewhere."
