Materials Oxford Garden uses fine materials that have qualities perfect for outdoor
use. Because our materials resist natural elements so well, little maintenance is required.
Protection Exposed to the outdoor elements of sun and rain, our wood products
weather naturally to a beautiful silvery gray color unless treated. If you wish to slow the
graying process or enhance the natural wood color, apply Cabot Australian Timber Oil
(page 70) or other quality timber protector seasonally. Oxford Garden recommends a
regular application of 303® Indoor and Outdoor Furniture Protectant™ on Tekwood to
protect against staining and natural weathering. Our other materials require minimal
maintenance to protect from outdoor exposure.
MATERIALS
A Good Foundation
ACACIA is a hardwood, high in oil content, that is resistant to weather,
rotting, and bug infestation. The lightweight nature of acacia, compared to
other hardwoods such as shorea and teak, make it a great option for outdoor
environments requiring frequent lifting and movement.
ACACIA
SHOREA is a tropical hardwood that grows naturally and plentifully in
Southeast Asia. Similar to teak in many ways, shorea is highly suited for outdoor
furniture. Heavy and dense, shorea is resistant to rot and will last for years in all
weather conditions.
SHOREA
Teak has well known qualities that make it superior to other woods for
outdoor furniture applications. The beautiful dense grain and high oil
content of teak allow it to resist rot, moisture, warping and splintering.
TEAK
Composite Sling is made with Textilene®, a composite mesh fabric
woven using PVC coated polyester. Textilene® is the industry standard
for versatility and strength.
COMPOSITE SLING
POWDER COATED ALUMINUM AND STEEL
Powder Coated Aluminum and Steel serves as a complimentary
element to other materials, creating a contemporary design. Durable and
lightweight, the rust proof nature of the powder coated aluminum frame
offers high quality and strength. Powder coated steel is used to offer
additional strength to bistro and bar elements.
Tekwood is a wood-alternative developed from polystyrene, available in a

LiteQuartz is an engineered panel that combines the durability of natural
quartz stone and the light weight of aluminum. One of earth’s hardest stone,
quartz has been added to resin to produce a highly scratch resistant solid surface
that is backed with an aluminum honeycomb panel. This combination results in
a beautiful surface that is durable and light weight.
Resin Wicker is made of a synthetic polyethylene material. Durable
and elastic, resin wicker provides a comfortable seat that will resist
weathering and endure.
Cleaning

COMPOSITE SLING
Rinse the furniture and use a sponge or soft bristle brush to scrub the
furniture with a mild cleaning solution. Lastly, rinse the furniture with fresh water.
Scrub with a mild, non-foaming, commercial cleanser. Rinse well and air dry.
POWDER COATED ALUMINUM & STEEL, TEKWOOD, & RESIN WICKER
SHOREA
Rinse the furniture and using a sponge or soft bristle brush, scrub the
furniture with a mild cleanser. Lastly, rinse the furniture with more
fresh water.
TEAK
For seasonal cleaning rinse the teak well and use a sponge or soft bristle
brush to scrub with a mild cleaning solution. Rinse with fresh water.
Wash gently with a mild non-abrasive cleanser, rinse well and let dry.
LITEQUARTZ
Regularly clean LiteQuartz using a soft rag and mild detergent. The detergent should
be a non-bleach and non-abrasive cleaner. Use a glass cleaner and a sponge to remove
dried or heavy stains. Scrape away gum or sticky material with a plastic putty knife.
