For us, it’s a matter of keeping it simple, making it beautiful, and staying true to our nature. Presence. Charm. Warmth. Energy. Sustainability. Intrigue. Wood and laminate finishes from Kimball Office can deliver it all with genuine integrity. And unexpected effects. Coco Sapele 5 I N G R A I N E D B E A U T Y. In a marketplace where a myriad of wood finishes exist, what distinguishes the exceptional from the everyday? By looking to the Vision Collection from Kimball Office, you’ll see a range of options that embodies wood’s truly genuine traits—and even brings them to the surface. Because we possess an artisan’s passion, we take a keener interest than most in communicating the finer details. We also believe it helps to deepen your appreciation of what we create. We carefully select veneers and solid woods with pride. And, while we hand-finish all wood in the exact same way, each piece accepts stains differently—meaning every one is an individual work of craftsmanship. Real wood is perfectly imperfect. Mineral streaks, gum pockets, and variations in color, grain, and texture are what make wood, well—wood. As with most interior surfaces, different grain characteristics of wood are revealed depending upon the always-varying interplay of placement, changing light, and differences in your viewing angle. That’s why you may have even noticed that when two wood pieces are installed at a 90° angle, they appear slightly different in color. This phenomenon, called “flip,” is simply due to the natural way light reflects upon the surface. In nature, such randomness is beauty, and we’re clearly staying true to that ideal. Admired for its warmth and personality, Cherry is a durable wood, with the versatility to work in any setting. From environments contemporary to traditional, Cherry fits in with charm and character. Cherry veneer can vary in hue, from creamy pink to deep, reddish brown. Marked by its fine texture, Cherry may also exhibit gum streaks and pin knots, which give extra intrigue to its appearance. Maple remains a popular choice for contemporary interiors and offers a range of intriguing hues. Veneer colors range from white to dark pink, with subtle shades of yellow and green as well. At first glance, Maple’s look is defined by a close, straight grain and fine, even texture. But the species’ inherent maple sugar and mineral streaks provide additional interest for the eye to appreciate. Long the desired choice for quality wood furniture of the traditional variety, Walnut’s beauty is now being highlighted in more modern settings. Veneer colors may span from light, grey-brown to dark grey, and may even show tones of green and purple. The color contrasts, together with an open, straight grain pattern, and interesting cathedrals, are Walnut’s distinguishing features that enhance any space.
