A
The
cademy for Ancient Music in Bruneck is a traditional music event,
targeting the historically informed performance of Baroque and Classical
music. The course is open to young talented musicians and will include
individual lessons from well known teachers and soloists performing on period
instruments, as well as chamber music tuition and the final concert, providing
a chance to play with fellow students and teachers.

Lessons & admission performance
The classes are thought for students with period instruments.
The lessons will take place daily from 9:30 to 18:30 and will be divided
into individual lessons and chamber music tuition. The stage will end
with a public concert.
The stage foresees a limited number of participants: 8 for each
instrument. At the end of the stage all participants will receive a
certificate of attendance.
Passive participants are welcomed to attend all sessions.
The students who will be admitted as active participant , will be
selected by the teachers and the Academy on the following basis:
| complete CV including academic, teaching, and professional
musical experience.
| music reference, normally written by someone who can comment
on the candidate's musical abilities, for example their current
principal study teacher.
| recording of a personal Baroque music piece execution.
We need to receive the original reference document with the referee's signature,
contact details, and the date it was written. All references must be provided in
English; if the referee cannot write in English please include the original signed
reference document and a translation.
The audition audio may not exceed 10 minutes’ duration and should include 2 or
3 short instrumental Baroque pieces. Please select your repertoire to
demonstrate the full range of your technical and artistic abilities. You may make
cut to fit your audition repertoire within the time limit.
Please note that your personal dates will be held in accordance with the
regulations governing the Data Protection Act and used only for the purpose of
the Academy.

For one stage : 250,00 €
For those who enroll in all three sessions : 600,00 €
The course fees are comprehensive of 10€ membership fee (Association
Cordia). By inscription to the masterclass the students become members
of the Cordia Verein | Association.

Whilst every effort is made to avoid changes to our programmes, the
Academy reserves the right to withdraw any course at any time. If for any
reason ICE cancels a course, all course fees will be returned in full.
Accomodation
The scholarship has been provided and it is meant to cover the
accomodation costs in Bruneck for the master classes periods.
Course fee, travelling costs and board | food are not covered
by the scholarship.

mainly on the Italian repertoire,
from the great contemporaries of
Monteverdi (Cima, Castello,
Marini, Uccellini, Fontana, etc..)
to the virtuosos of the late
Baroque (Vivaldi, Veracini,
Tartini, Geminiani), with
particular emphasis on Corelli.

Enrico Onofri was born in Ravenna, Italy. While still a student he was invited by J.Savall as
concertmaster of La Capella Reial, and also performed with such ensembles as Concentus
Musicus Wien, Ensemble Mosaïques, and Concerto Italiano. He has been concertmaster
and solo violinist of Il Giardino Armonico since 1987.Since 2002 Enrico Onofri has also
appeared with great success as a conductor, receivinginvitations from orchestras and
festivals throughout Europe and in Japan. In 2005 he becameprincipal conductor of Divino
Sospiro (the resident Baroque orchestra at CCB in Lisbon). In 2000he founded the chamber
ensemble Imaginarium. E.Onofri has performed in the world’s foremost concert halls
alongside such artists as N.Harnoncourt, G.Leonhardt, C.Coin, C.Bartoli, K.&M.Labèque.
Many titles in his extensive discography (Teldec, Decca, Naive, Zig Zag, Winter&Winter,
Opus111, etc.) have received the most prestigious international prizes. Since 2000 he has
taught Baroque violin and Baroque performing practice at the Conservatorio Bellini in
Palermo. He is regularly invited to give masterclasses elsewhere in Europe and Japan; in
2011 the Juilliard School invited him to teach a masterclassin New York.

Stefano Veggetti obtained his diploma as violoncellist at the Conservatory of L’ Aquila with
David Cole. He subsequently won a scholarship to continue his studies in Philadelphia with
Orlando Cole. After returning to Europe, fascinated by the sound of period instruments, he
attended master-classes with Anner Bijlsma and has since then played as a soloist and in
chamber music ensembles with musicians who are specialized in period instruments (A.
Bijlsma, A. Bernardini, S. Ritchie, O. Dantone, l’ Archibudelli, l’ Astrée, G. Cooper,
Oberlinger) in Europe, Mexico, Canada and the USA. He has appeared on both radio and
television (RAI, Italy; RDF, Germany; RDP Antena2 Portogal) and has recorded for Nuova Era
(Italy) and Opus 111 (France). Since the year 2000, along with his Cordia Ensemble, he has
worked on newly discovered chamber and orchestra music from the Baroque and Classic
periods, which are recorded by the label Brilliant. Stefano Veggetti teaches baroque cello at
the Conservatory in Verona and at various masterclasses across Europe and plays on the
violoncello Nicola Gagliano (1737) ex Oblach, which is kindly provided to him by the
courtesy of Baronessa Mariuccia Zerilli-Marimo.

Rachel Podger is one of the most creative talents to emerge in the field of period
performance over the last decade, establishing herself as a leading interpreter of the music
of the Baroque and Classical periods. She was educated in Germany and in England at the
Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she studied with David Takeno and Michaela
Comberti.
After beginnings with The Palladian Ensemble and Florilegium, she was leader of
The English Concert from 1997 to 2002. Since then she has been in demand as a soloist and
guest director all over the Baroque music world and has enjoyed meeting orchestras from
all over the globe incuding Arte dei Sounatori (Poland), Santa Fe Pro Musica and Musica
Angelica (USA), Capriccio Basel and the Holland Baroque Society.
A regular collaboration with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment began in 2004 with
a Brandenburg Concerto tour to the USA and the last five years have seen tours to Europe
and the USA exploring not just Baroque repertoire but also Haydn, Mozart and CPE Bach
Concertos and Sinfonies. One of the highlights was a televised concert at the BBC Proms in
2007.

Erich Höbarth, born in 1956 in Vienna studied with Grete Biedermann at the Wiener
Konservatorium, Franz Samohyl at the Wiener Musikhochschule and with Sandor Végh at
the Salzburger Mozarteum becoming than his assistant and member of the legendary VeghQuartet. From 1980 to 1987 he was leader of the Wiener Symphoniker and soon after he
was appointed as leader of Concentus Musicus Wien directed by Nikolaus Harnoncourt. He
founded the Wiener Streichsextett, and in 1987 the Quatuor Mosaïques one of the most
renowned and successful period instrument string quartet. Erich Höbarth appears as leader
and soloist with Camerata Academica Salzburg, the Wiener Kammerorchester, the Chapelle
Royal Paris, the Baltischen Philharmonie, RSO Wien, den Wiener Symphonikern throughout
Europe, Usa, Asia. He is leader in Andreas Schiff’s Camerata Bern. Many of his recordings
are price-winning. He was appointed Guest Professor in the Musikhochschule Graz,
chamber music teacher in the Wiener Musikhochschule and Guest Professor at the Graz
University. Since 2001 Erich Höbarth is Artistic Director of the Camerata Bern.

Andreas Helm received his education in recorder, oboe and instrumental pedagogy
at Linz Bruckner-Konservatorium with Carin van Heerden. Having completed his
degree in 1999, he went to Amsterdam where he took his concert diploma after
studying with Alfredo Bernardini for three years.
As an oboist and player of the recorder, he worked with L’Orfeo Barockorchester,
Wiener Akademie, Freiburger Barockorchester, Concentus Musicus Wien, Concerto
Köln, the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Les Talens Lyriques; Andreas is also a
member of the recorder trio tricorders, the Rossi Piceno Baroque Ensemble and
the ensemble Schikaneders Jugend. For the seasons 2001 and 2002/03 he was
invited by the European Union Baroque Orchestra to perform as first oboist and
recorder soloist. In 2004, he founded Orchester Barucco together with conductor
Heinz Ferlesch. Not only as a chamber musician, but also as a soloist he won prizes
at a large number of competitions (among others Gradus ad Parnassum, Premio
Bonporti). Concert tours took him through many European countries as well as to
China, Japan, Mexico, Singapore and South Africa. Recordings on CPO, harmonia
mundi, Capriccio, Cavalli, ORF, Carus and others.
Andreas Helm teaches baroque oboe and chamber music at the Aestas Musica
Summer School of Baroque Music in Varaždin, Croatia and at Burghausen’s Early
Music festival in Germany. Since 2007, he has been assistant lecturer for baroque
oboe at Graz University of Music.
Robert Oberaigner was born in the Austrian Tirol. He studied with Horst Hajek,
Johann Hindler and with Sabine Meyer in the Conservatory in Lübeck. He won
first prize in "Prima la musica" competition and won the "Musica juventutis"
prize twice resulting in a many appearances as a soloist including a debut in the
Konzerthaus in Vienna. At the age of 17 he began performing as a substitute
with the Vienna Philharmonic and in the Vienna State Opera. Since 1999 he
performs with the Camerata Academica Salzburg, with whom he has given
concerts in Europe and the USA, and performed in Festivals such as the BBC
Proms, Salzburger Festspielen and the Luzern Festival. In 2003 Robert
Oberaigner took the position of Principal Clarinettist with the GürzenichOrchester in Cologne, with whom he has often appeared as a soloist. He is in
demand as Principal Clarinettist with leading orchestras such as the Berlin
Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, the Staatskapelle Dresden and the "Super
World Orchestra" in Japan.
