CYBERHOIST with InMOTION3D A REVOLUTION IN MOTION CONTROL The revolution in motion control continues. XLNT Advanced Technologies' CyberHoist 'intelligent chain hoist motor' system with the dedicated InMotion 3D design and control software create a powerful new tool for achieving complex and dynamic set element movements quickly, safely and in near silence. System options include (dual) Full Production System, (single) Production System and Notebook Production System, a handheld controller for fast load-in and load-out and an expanded range of three CyberHoist motors, providing a wide choice of loading and speed ranges. Designed in cooperation with lighting and set-designers and production managers, this revolutionary system has all the features the entertainment and corporate presentations markets have asked for – and more. Abilities include fast programming, accurate positioning and repeatability, true timed speed control, no truss twisting at start up and much more. Analogous to an automated lighting system – and unlike any other motion control system on the market – this system's 'intelligence' is shared between the host control computer and the dedicated CyberHoist motors. Each motor's integral processor (communicating via XLNT DataMotion technology over Ethernet) interacts with the host computer to feed back real-time position, speed, temperature, load and status data for total control and complete safety. The advantages of controlled interaction between lighting and rigging equipment, and the tremendous time-saving during a show build XLNT DataMotion data distribution over Ethernet, and PowerMotion power distribution, complete the system because of the system's simplicity to install, are clear. Above all, accurate and smooth variable speed control from 0.1 mm/sec (0.004"/sec) up to 40 metres/ min* (2 ft per sec), in steps of 0.1 mm/sec, permits programming with a precision of +/- 0.1 mm over the whole chain length. CREATOR OF CYBERHOIST Top: Eurovision Song Contest 2007 (LD Mikki Kunttu, production manager Ola Melzig for Spectra Sweden and Eastway). Below: Opera North's production of 'Arms and the Cow' InMOTION3D IN COMMAND POWERFUL, INTUITIVE, FAST GRAPHICAL CREATIVITY The secret of the system's supple character can be found in the revolutionary combination of the InMotion 3D object-oriented software and CyberHoist intelligent hoist motors. An intuitive graphical user interface allows complete objects (entire set elements, giant video screens, props, exhibits and so on) to be programmed in minutes to move in either two or three dimensions as a single object, with precision as fine as 0.1mm. Multiple motor points are combined in one object so that once an object has been defined, movements of the complete object can be programmed, the software determining individual motor actions needed to achieve the move. Moves can be stored in an editable playlist and replayed either manually or automatically to timecode. It makes it simple for a programmer to create very complex set moves, because the only requirement is to think about where to move an object to, rotate it along its axes, and at what speed. New 3D Formulas allow unlimited numbers of hoists Clear, easy and flexible Start, Create and Play through the 3 programme stages in InMotion3D: 1. Set-up Mode 2. Programm Mode, with Presets, Cues, Cuelist und Runlist 3. Run Mode per object. The system removes the need to program individual motor movements – the software takes care of all that, ensuring the loadings are always safe at all speeds and positions. Programming structures are straightforward, and similar to most lighting desks, CyberHoist / InMotion3D in action: Paul McCartney US Tour 2005, Lighting and Set Design: LeRoy Bennett (Awarded Total Production International Award 2006 for Set Design) with cues stored in the memory of the hoists themselves. InMotion 3D's integral CAD-style visualisation accepts drawings imported in Vectorworks format or can create its own, while a built-in effects engine adds a database of standard pre-programmed movement effects. The PowerBook- or iMac-based InMotion3D-systems are capable of operating one single to groups of CyberHoist motors. For larger productions a flightcased, dual-computer system with uninterruptable power supplies hosts the network. The optional RC1 handheld controller provides a host of options including a fast and safe method of load-in and load-out without the need to set up a computer. E D N T I E R O C T J E O B Object oriented programming makes show design fast, simple and accurate CYBERHOIST MOTOR ENGINEERING FOR PRECISION AND SAFETY There is a choice of three whisper-quiet CyberHoist 'intelligent hoist motors', available with a Digital Loadcell. The ultra-fast CyberHoist CH250 provides speeds up to 40 metres per minute (2 ft / sec), with a maximum loading of 1/4 ton (250kg); the original CyberHoist CH500 handles loads of up to 1/2 ton (500kg) at up to 20 m / min (1 ft / sec) and the high power CyberHoist CH1000 handles up to 1 ton (1000kg) at up to 10 m / min (1/2 ft / sec). Each motor houses a digitally-controlled closed flux vector drive. It delivers full torque at all speeds, with positioning accurate to 0.1mm. Absolute and incremental encoders allow the motor to sense its exact position without pre-calibration. The system can be programmed on- or off-line; the preprogrammed show can be patched to the hoists at the venue, enabling objects to quickly be levelled with the 3D software presets. Each CyberHoist motor has its own ID and can work either solo or as apart of a multiple-motor object. Connection is enabled via XLNT's DataMotion protocol with power distribution via the XLNT PowerMotion system. Automatic speed adjustment can be effected, depending on whether travel distance or travel time have priority. The system permits variable acceleration and deceleration over the full speed range as well as dynamic braking, and NOW AVAILABLE WITH DIGITAL LOADCELL The new XLNT Digital Loadcell for CyberHoist provides a unique realtime and online accurate report, direct to the processor-board and to the InMotion3D CyberHoist Management System, which uses this information for safety and ease during programming and operating. provides full torque from real zero to maximum speed. It is also an extremely safe system with a double DC brake. The motor has the Madonna 'Confessions' World Tour 2006 (LD LeRoy Bennett) and Black Eyed Peas (LD Marc Brickman) option of a digital load sensor with a readout in the software's drive point status view. The motors meet the defintively stringent German BGV-C1 (GUV-VC1) / BGG-912 (GUV-G 912) safety regulations. Also in the hardware specification are flow-controlled forced ventilation, modular construction, constant temperature control at three points and a safety coefficient up to 10, complying with the DIN 56 950 international standard for dynamic overhead use. High lifting power, intelligent variable speed chain hoist 1000 kg (1 ton) maximum load 0-10 m/min (0.54 ft/sec) variable speed OVERVIEW The CyberHoist 1000 intelligent chain hoist is one of three different hoists for use with an InMotion3D system or RC1 handheld controller. Designed to be operated motor-up or motor-down (for use with or without a mothergrid), it provides a maximum travel speed of 10 m/min (0.54 ft/sec) and a maximum load capacity of 1000Kg (2024 lbs). It is designed to be controlled by the dedicated InMotion 3D object oriented software or an RC1 handheld controller, and operated in conjunction with XLNT DataMotion™ data distribution and PowerMotion™ power distribution systems. POWER AND INTELLIGENCE The two principle components within the CyberHoist 1000 are a powerful and precise, digitally-controlled closed loop flux vector drive and a sophisticated processor module. It delivers full torque at all speeds from 0 to 10 metres per minute (0.54 ft/sec, in 0.1 mm (0.004"/sec) speed steps, with positioning accurate to 0.1 mm (0.004"). The combination of absolute and incremental encoders means the motor constantly senses its exact position without requiring pre-calibration. Zero speed is obtained without the use of brakes, the Vector Drive control keeping the motor's axis in place. When preprogrammed off-line, it can quickly be levelled with the software presets at each venue: for example, on a tour. SOPHISTICATION AND SAFETY This method makes it simple for a programmer to create very complex moves with multi-hoist systems, the only programming requirement being to instruct the software where to move a complete object to, what Height, Roll and Pitch to apply, and the time to reach that desired position. The software controls individual motor movements and ensures that the load on each motor remains within safe limits at all speeds and positions. Safety is further enhanced by a double DC brake and the optional digital loadcell, which is viewable on the status screen. Also in the hardware specification are forced ventilation, modular construction, constant temperature control and a safety coefficient up to 10, complying with the DIN 56925 international standard for dynamic overhead use. These products provide 3-phase unmodulated power on separate breakers for each CyberHoist connected to the distributor. Connection to a CyberHoist is by means of a Harting multiconnector. This multiconnector has individual circuits for 4 CyberHoists. Input connectors The D8C/D16C power distributor is equipped with a Class 4 Emergency Stop circuit, which can be triggered with the ES/ESR E-Stop buttons. A typical E-Stop button circuit consists of one Emergency Stop button with Reset (ESR) and multiple Emergency Stop buttons (ES). of every power distributor, one Emergency Stop button is mounted on the face panel. When multiple D8C/D16C power distributors are in use, an ESC8 Emergency Stop Combiner must be used to connect the power distributors to one E-Stop button circuit. The ESC8 is also designed as a Class 4 Emergency Stop Component. All PowerMotion products are supplied in a standard lightweight aluminium housing, with spigots to lock them vertically together. 8 CyberHoists 2 x Han Modular (4 CyberHoists each) 1 x Han 5 80 amp 3P+N+G 1 x Neutrik Ethercon for Emergency Stop circuit Class 4 8 x 3 phase with thermal protection 6.3 Amp, single switch Lightweight aluminium 16 kg (35.27 lbs) 156mm(H) x 525mm(W) x 450mm(D) 6.14"(H) x 20.67"(W) x 17.71"(D) BGV-C1 Emergency Stop classification MCD’s Enclosure Weight (physical) Dimensions (physical) Classification 16 CyberHoists 4 x Han Modular (4 CyberHoists each) 1 x Han 5 80 amp 3P+N+G 1 x Neutrik Ethercon for Emergency Stop circuit Class 4 16 x 3 phase with thermal protection 6.3 Amp, single switch Lightweight aluminium 21 kg (46.29 lbs) 256mm(H) x 525mm(W) x 450mm(D) 10.07"(H) x 20.67"(W) x 17.71"(D) BGV-C1 SPECIFICATIONS - ESC8 Power distribution Input connectors Emergency Stop classification MCD’s Enclosure Weight (physical) Dimensions (physical) Classification 8 Neutrik Neutricon 1x CEE 16A 240V 1x Neutrik Neutricon Class 4 16 x 3 phase with thermal protection 6.3 Amp, single switch Lightweight aluminium 10 kg (22.04 lbs) 156mm(H) x 525mm(W) x 450mm(D) 6.14"(H) x 20.67"(W) x 17.71"(D) BGV-C1 InMotion3D and XLNT Advanced Technologies are trademarks of XLNT Advanced Technologies BV and Stagemaker is a trademark of Verlinde S.A.
