If I can do it, so can they.” -Aunty Sharon, 2006 Hui Mālama O Ke Kai (HMK) is accepting nominations for the Aunty Sharon Majit-Gorion Annual Aloha Award. This award is presented in honor and memory of Aunty Sharon who was a Hui Mālama O Ke Kai program founder, advisor, and supporter. She sat on our foundation’s Board of Directors and was a significant partner to the Hui Mālama O Ke Kai Foundation (through Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center). Aunty Sharon had a prolific love and passion for the youth, families and community of Waimānalo. When you were in her presence you felt loved and inspired. This award aims to perpetuate the legacy of Aunty Sharon’s aloha. The Aunty Sharon Majit-Gorion Annual Aloha Award is awarded to those who exhibit the values Aunty Sharon lived by, especially those who inspire positive change in others. Nominations for each award will be considered by the HMK program staff, the award committee and HMKF Board of Directors. FAMILY AWARD Awarded to a Hui Mālama O Ke Kai family who has consistently shown aloha with the ability to inspire positive change within their family and other families. COMMUNITY PARTNER AWARD Awarded to a Hui Mālama O Ke Kai community partner who has consistently shown aloha with the ability to inspire change within their organization and/or community.
