be football but it is still in debate. Thank you
Cammie for your question and we hope we
answered it.
If you have questions we have the answer!
If you have a question then send your questions to:

Cammie Tatham 8th grader drew this in art. She said "I chose
flowers because flowers are pretty and the bumble bees because
they go along with flowers". This assignment was given by
Mrs. Morrow for her students to go out and find a picture in a
magazine they liked, then they were to draw it out and color it in
black and white. Tatham cocludes by saying "It was fun but hard to
make, I screwed up a few times but it ended up looking very nice".
It took Cammie only three days to come up with this. As she went
on she said " If I had more time though I would have liked to make
the bumble bees neater".

Leadership News and Events
Valentines Dance
On February 15th, students gathered in the gym for our annual
Valentine's Day Dance. The gym was decorated with glittered hearts
and posters made by the leadership class and the art class. Students
won prizes and a grand prize-- a plush teddy bear went home with
Karina Mendoza. A highlight of the dance was when the guys danced
to the Harlem Shake. The dance was great because a lot of students
went and enjoyed the music that the DJ played from the beginning to
the end.
MRS. DOHERTY’S PASTA DINNER
FUNDRAISER
On Thursday February 7, our community held a pasta dinner
fundraiser for Mrs. Doherty, our 7th and 8th grade Science Teacher.
The fundraiser was held to help Mrs. Doherty fight her battle against
cancer. Many Santa Lucia Middle School and Coast Union High
School students helped out at the event including our Leadership
Class. Many students found this event heart warming and had fun
helping out. They especially had fun because they got to help out with
friends and they knew they were doing it for a good cause.
"I thought it had Swag, I thought it was a really cool event" Michelle
Campos said.
"I thought it was a fun way to help out Mrs. Doherty, and it was fun
seeing everyone help out" Marissa Martinez added.
"I thought it was pretty good, I liked helping out, and a lot of people
showed up." Tyler Seng said.
As well, our community raised $18,549.51!!!!!!!!! By just paying
for a $10 dollar pasta dinner and a few baked goods can really make a
difference, and this fundraiser proved it. A huge Thank you to
everyone who helped out at this fundraiser.

Girls Basketball
The girl’s basketball teams were off to a great
start this season. The A team has a record of 4 wins
and 8 losses and the B team has a record of 6 wins and
7 losses. They practice hard at practice to achieve
what they want. The B team recently competed in the
Los Osos tournament and got 5th place. The girls
practice almost everyday of the week. They have had
some problems with tough teams but have come out on
top. On February 28 both a and b teams competed in the
Lewis tournament. The girls a team came out in second
place with a final score of 14-28. The a team had a
huge crowd come out and cheer them on. They tried
hard and put a lot of effort in this season. It was a
great way to end the season for both a and b teams.
Congratulations lady warriors!
