A number of PAWA artists and guests from as far away as Portland attended this year! Special painting trips that will take some advance planning. July 5 – 12 Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada! Jasper is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it's only 600 miles from Seattle. We plan to meet in Jasper Sunday evening, July 5. We will paint for 5-6 days. There may be an optional trip afterwards to Banff and Yoho Parks, adding 3-4 more days. If you are interested in going, please contact Paula Ensign at paulaensign@gmail.com as soon as possible. August 23 – 28 Camp Casey on Whidbey Island with the NW Pastel Society! Lodging in dormitory rooms at the Bachelors Officers Quarters (BOQ) is just $165 per person for five nights. The Northwest Pastel Society has invited us to join them for a week of painting, breaking bread, and sharing our art. We need at least 20 people to confirm interest to move forward. There is a commercial kitchen, meeting rooms for indoor painting, and evening programs. Additionally Robin Weiss will hold a workshop during the week! Partners, spouses and guests are welcome, and don’t need to be dues-paying members of PAWA, they merely have to pay for their lodging. We will soon be sending out EventBrite invitations for you to sign up. September 25 – 27 Mt. Baker, Mt. Shuksan with the Alpine Club of Canada, a Vancouver, BC group of hikers and painters. Last September while painting at Mt. Baker, we bumped into a group of hikers and painters who were staying at the Mt. Baker Lodge. This is a dorm like facility that sleeps 62 people. We are in the initial planning stages for this trip, but they would like to meet up with us this weekend and all stay at the lodge together.
