The main focus of the run is donor awareness. Leanne Fetter, DoIT, organized a group, “Remembering Rob” in honor of her brother. Rob had 4 transplants in his lifetime and passed away last year. Leanne, Nita Crawford (Rob’s wife), and Terri Wiegert (Human Resources) enjoyed a beautiful morning and proudly completed the 3 mile walk with Rob in mind. l-r: Nita Crawford, Leanne Fetter, and Terri Wiegert Stephanie Navarra (Circuit Clerk) and her friend Stephanie Clark has a great time as they finished the Arbor Dash. Although the course was muddy and the weather cold, they still made the best of it and were all smiles! l-r: Stephanie Navarra & Stephanie Clark May 2015 8 Person-Centered Care Story…. We would like to share an awesome story about Person-Centered Care demonstrated by Tammy Moore, CNA and Cynthia Steele who works in Housekeeping at River Bluff. Tammy had learned from one of our resident’s that his family brought him in $70.00 for spending money and unfortunately he put it in his shirt pocket and sent it down to the laundry to be cleaned. Once Tammy found out she and Cynthia began going through all the dirty linen for the nursing home, which is a ton I might add. They located the money and returned it to the resident. This act of kindness show’s how special our residents are to our staff. Contributor: Monica Plymale A huge thank you to both of you! Terri Hileman receives her licensed social worker credentials! Terri’s job is to advocate for and help our residents gain access to resources while confronting their various personal issues. Psychosocial support to clients especially those that are emotionally distressed, have different health concerns and help educate them on how to cope with acute pain. Pile the feta and walnuts in the middle of the greens. Scatter the strawberries and blueberries on top. Serve with the dressing on the side, and not until ready to eat as it wilts the salad. Makes 1 delicious salad. Patriot S’Mores (www.food.com) Ingredients : 1 sheet graham cracker, broken in half 1 marshmallow 2 pieces milk chocolate candy bars 6-8 fresh blueberries 2 thick strawberry slices Directions: Arrange the chocolate on half of the graham cracker. Set the blueberries on top of the chocolate and melt over coals (or microwave) being careful not to lose the berries. NOTE: the chocolate must be melted as the hot marshmallow will not melt it. Roast the marshmallow and place on top of the berries. Top with strawberry slices and then the second graham cracker. Makes 1 serving.
