TRANSPORT TO CHAMBER 2. COMPRESSION 3. WIDE FILM WRAPPING 4. WRAPPING Bulk material is loaded either from a factory conveyor belt, front-end loader or directly offloaded from a lorry. Material is transported from the feeding table by an elevator into a compression chamber, using a robust chained conveyor system with steel carriers. Belts inside the chamber prevent spillage. Hardox material chamber ensures durability and a long lifetime of the unit. Automatically lubricated buchings prevents dust and moisture damage. Initially, the bales are wrapped in wide film to allow the bales to maintain their shape and density. An air pressure cleaning system ensures high quality operation at all times. Using net instead of wide film is of cause possible. A predefined number of layers of film seals the material in a compact bale on the wrapping table, maximizing the storage and handling potential. 2 3 1 4 2164 Required power: >55 kW electrical motor or >120 HP tractor Hydraulic/hydrostatic drive PTO speed: 850 RPM Total weight: 9850–11160 kg, depending on specifications Capacity: Bale volume: Bale diameter: Bale width: Bale weight: Up to 60 bales/hour 1.25 m3 115 cm 120 cm 300–1200 kg 2671 O 29 32 3935 The Orkel Hi-X Compactor is operated using hydraulics, with power being supplied by either a tractor or an electric motor (Powerpack PP55). 3635 ORKEL Hi-X COMPACTOR - TECHNICAL DETAILS 11471 Orkel Hi-X Control System Mobility Intelligent and robust control system with intuitive touch screen interface. The Orkel Hi-X can be operated as a stationary installation, alternatively as a mobile unit for operation in different locations. The baling process is fully automatic, but you may adjust the speed of the feeding, chamber preasure, wrapping film overlap and number of layers, according to your needs. Visit our website www.orkel.com for more information about the machine and optional equipment, like Powerpack and bale handling tools. If required, the Hi-X can be brought in to transport mode in a few minutes and pulled on the road by a tractor or a lorry. The allowed speed is up to 80 km/h. STORAGE AND LOGISTICS EASY TO HANDLE EFFICIENT LOGISTICS IN UNIT PACKAGES PRESERVING OUTSTANDING QUALITY The Orkel Hi-X Compactor transforms bulk materials into easy-to-handle round bales, using nothing but polyethylene plastic wrapping. This makes removing the wrap both easy and problem free, as there are no metal bands or netting to get stuck in machinery components. Baling is a clean and efficient way to handle bulk material. It enables the material to be compacted into unit packages, thereby simplifying logistics for a smoother workflow. The Orkel bales conserve their content very well, keeping a high stability of the content. This is due to the tight compression and wraping that virtually removes most of the oxygen inside the bales. Several reports show how significant this effect is for selected industries. The Hi-X reduces the volume of almost any bulk material up to three times, which gives the ability to store more in less space and to transport more in each shipment. Clean and simplified storage is made easier by the possibility of stacking bales vertically, as much as eight bales high, for example in pyramid shaped stacks or rows. The Orkel bale size is optimized for loading of bales into lorries, containers (44 units in 40ft container), ships or similar. The air- and waterproof plastic wrap prevents spillage and damage caused by moisture or leakage. Any odor or other evironmental issues are also minimized, making it possible to store bales in the open. Eastern Shore Forest Products in Maryland, US have made over 80.000 bales of shavings for bedding. “The Orkel compactors are important for us in order to achieve better logistics, saved transport costs and easy market access” Tom Johnson CEO, Easter Shore Forest Products Inc. New Earth Solutions in Leicestershire, UK has one Orkel Hi-X Compactor in operation. They are baling about 135 tons per day of RDF, and most of the bales are shipped to customers in Europe. “We are amazed by the superior quality of the Orkel bales” Peter Mills, New Earth Solutions - UK Ecaru, Egyptian Company for Solid Waste in Egypt are operating 3 units of the Orkel MP2000 and are baling RDF for the cement industry. “We have very good experience with the compactors from Orkel, they have both high capacity and are very reliable, which is very important for us” Dr. Hisham Sherif CEO, Ecaru/Entag, Egypt Ecoedge in the Philippines produce Refuse Derived Fule (RDF) by sorting and shredding raw municipal waste. They have had an Orkel MP2000 Compactor in operation since 2014. Providing RDF for the cement industry. Yearly production is 25.000 tons. What began as a modest production of small toys and tricycles for local customers has now become a global supplier of high quality machinery. NORWEGIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP SINCE 1949 In 1949, at the age of 27, the Norwegian welder Johan Gjønnes invested in a welding machine. The intention was to make a living out of repairing sledges and bicycles for neighbours and acquaintances. In a small smokehouse in Fannrem, around 45 kilometers southwest of Trondheim, he gradually developed the business into production of toys, tricycles and simple hand carriages for agriculture. INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS BASED ON EXPERIENCE In the 60s and 70s, the production of agriculture oriented equipment increased, and as the wheels turned faster, more employees got involved in the production. Since most of the workers came from farms or had their background in farming, the development of new products were based on broad practical experience and a flair for the users needs. FROM COUNTRYSIDE WORKSHOP TO GLOBAL BRAND Soon, Orkel became an established brand, known for its reliable quality. In 1986 the first Orkel baler was invented, and with the round grass bales, Orkel really got the worlds attention. Today Orkel Group is an established, strong and pioneering supplier of round balers, compactors and transport equipment, represented in over 50 countries on all continents. The company is one of the biggest manufacturers in its segment in Norway and has a unique position on the domestic market. It has earned critical acclaim and a reputation for high quality through experience and innovative design. The Orkel of today is quite a long way from the small, modest countryside workshop the founder Johan Gjønnes established over 60 years ago. Quality, innovation, commitment and passion for excellent craftsmanship are still ideals we work towards.
