Mission Statement Our mission is to heal and enlighten the world with the revitalizing powers of medical cannabis. As one of the premier leaders in cultivation and dispensation in the state of California, our vision is to continue to be heralded as the finest and best destination for medical marijuana patients. We serve both our local community of Malibu and in-state patients with the highest quality THC and CBDenriched cannabis products, all within an enchanting and innovative retail environment and state-wide delivery service. 99 High Tide Co-Founder Yvonne “99” DeLaRosa Green Yvonne DeLaRosa Green is an international actress, activist and visionary in the world of cannabis collectives and legalization. Yvonne’s activist roots began from a very young age through meeting and learning from the late cannabis activist and author Jack Herer. She would later use her knowledge of the healing benefits of cannabis when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. It was then that Yvonne took her mother to many dispensaries and realized there was a need to create a dispensary that not only carried the highest quality products but provided a place for patients to feel welcome and be treated with the best customer service in an aesthetically pleasing environment. This led Yvonne to establish the 99 High Art Collective in Venice Beach, CA, which was considered to be one of the most lovely and innovative collectives in Los Angeles and was later heralded by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the best collectives in all of California. As an entrepreneur, Yvonne successfully branded 99 High Art as not only a collective but as a center for healing and visionary art, seamlessly blending these worlds into a new model of healing, beauty and excellence for the entire industry. Armed with a masters degree in film and television from UCLA, Yvonne has gone on to create award-winning projects and documentaries, as well as garnering awards as an actor for various film/ TV projects. She continues to use her knowledge of the film industry and her celebrity in the entertainment and cannabis industries to assist in spreading the word for cannabis and all of its benefits. She has appeared in such television shows as NCIS, CSI: Miami, How I Met Your Mother, King of Queens, The Closer, Law & Order, Longmire, NYPD Blue, Weeds, and played the lead role in her very own FOX series entitled Señor White opposite comedian Ron White. Yvonne's dedication and earnest desire to help others is evident in all of her work, be it in film, television, community outreach or cannabis business and education. She embodies the true essence of an American visionary and wishes to preserve and enhance those ideals by creating a space that serves the community and adheres to the highest possible standards of quality and care. 99 High Tide Co Founder/Master Grower Samuel Huntington Boyer Descended from one of the founding fathers of the United States of America, Sam Huntington Boyer was named after one of his great-grandfathers, Sam Huntington, one of the original signers of the Declaration Of Independence - a document written, fatefully enough, on hemp paper. Generations later, this legacy now continues as Sam has become one of the pioneers in this industry. Previously, Sam was an award-winning filmmaker who got his start in extreme sports films and documentaries. Sam's films have garnered him several awards, honors and official selections to myriad festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival. It was during his travels filming throughout the world that Sam would meet his mentor, Master Grower Rik Shiva. At the age of 58, Rik had also traveled the world, but his mission was to gather the best cannabis genetics in order to breed a superior cannabis strain. He accomplished this goal before his untimely passing three years ago. During Sam's tutelage under Rik, Sam learned to master his art of cannabis cultivation before gaining the genetics that he has successfully grown into some of the most revered strains known in the world of cannabis. Possessing a business degree from California State University, Northridge, Sam has successfully owned and operated multiple businesses including the 99 High Art Collective in Venice Beach, CA and currently the 99 High Tide Collective in Malibu, CA. The healing and medicinal benefits from the use of medical marijuana are one of the driving forces behind Sam's drive to create and perfect his business and craft. By doing so, he endeavors to honor his historical roots with his work at the forefront of this revolutionary industry. Yvonne DeLaRosa Green, founder of the 99 High Tide Collective, gave an emotional speech in support of medical marijuana soon after the ribbon was cut. She asked those in attendance to hold hands and pray along with her. "I want to thank Creator for giving us this sacred plant that has helped so many people like my mother with cancer and my god child with epilepsy, " Green said. Actress/Activist and 99 High Tide Co-founder, Yvonne DeLaRosa Green and partner Sam Boyer celebrate their Grand Opening Ribbon cutting ceremony with Tommy Chong and former Malibu Mayor Skylar Peak. Yvonne Delarosa Green featured in Skunk Magazine’s Women of Weed 2015 Issue! 99 HIGH ART COLLECTIVE FEATURED IN THE FRONT PAGE COVER STORY “MARIJUANA, INC.” DEFENDING DISPENSARIES The media likes to portray California’s, medical –marijuana dispensaries as some kind of out-of-control “Wild West”, but our insiders look reveals that America’s $2-trillion-per-year health-care industry could learn an awful lot from the best medical –cannabis collectives when it comes to putting patients before profits. By David Bienenstock At the 99 High Art Collective in Venice, the founder, Yvonne, was inspired to open a combination medical-marijuana dispensasry and art gallery for more personal reasons. "When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I knew it was time to share with her every thing I knew about marijuana. So I decided to create a place where my mother and all medical marijuana patients could feel safe, comfortable and joyful acquiring their medicine. The 99 High Art Collective featured in High Times Magazine as one of California’s “…best medical-cannabis collectives…” Yvonne explains, "I never understood why healing had to be done in a sterile environment, devoid of art, love, music, and good vibes. We believe that there is an art to healing and healing is an art- to us they are inseparable. ". Again the focus is not just on cannabis, but community, compassion and creativity as well - three powerfully healing forces that the modern health industry not only fails to foster, but wouldn't even recognize unless you figured out a way to slap a price tag on them. Yvonne “DeLaRosa” Green - aka 99 Founder of the 99 High Art Collective and Gallery Bud Lover is a blog written by two friends who also happen to be women. In the spirit of celebrating female entrepreneurs, we bring you "Stiletto Stoner", a monthly column profiling our favorite female tastemakers, activists, canna-business owners, and beyond. Bud Lover is very honored to have the lovely Yvonne (aka 99) Founder of the 99 High Art Collective and Gallery, as our very first Stiletto Stoner. Enjoy the interview! Please tell us about your collective and philosophy on herbal medicine. "The 99 High Art Collective was born from the need to have a place of sanctuary, healing and art to inspire people to heal themselves through higher consciousness plant medicine. When my mother was suffering from breast cancer, it was Marijuana to the rescue. I wanted to create a space that you could bring your mother to, and also your friends. A place where the community could come together and heal through art and plants and music. My philosophy is easy... Art and healing are inseparable.“ To read full article visit http://budlover.blogspot.com/2010/03/stiletto-stoner-yvonne-founder-of-99.html The 99 High Art Collective in Venice Beach…” “…operates as a gallery that hosts artists, book readings and yoga classes…” “…the collective offers a menu of medicinal pot for delivery, carting strains like "Dragon's Breath" and "Mr. Nice" to patients' doors. “We deliver” is the new call of shuttered pot merchants who, rather than going quietly into the night, have gone the Domino’s Pizza route instead. According to the Wall Street Journal, while some closed pot shops wait quietly for the courts to lift the rules that shut down over 400 of the city’s pot collectives, others, like the 99 High Art Collective in Venice Beach, have simply gone mobile. ABOUT: 99 High Art Collective, where visionary artworks, old world knowledge and reformed medical marijuana laws, merge seamlessly within a boutique on the culture-forward strip of Abbott Kinney Blvd., in Venice Beach. High Art, High Love, High Quality Medicine. 99 is an art gallery/medicinal cannabis collective. “We believe that art and healing are inseparable. We are a collective of artists, DJ’s, musicians, growers, healers and patients. Peace, Love and Art.” 99 High Art Collective | 1108 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Venice, CA 90291 | Ph: (310) 450-8699 | info@99collective.com | http://www.99collective.com "The 99 High Art Collective is a pioneering space offering inspiration, education, medication and community. MAPS is proud to be part of the kaleidoscope that is the 99 High Art Collective.“ -Rick Doblin, Ph.D. Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies. Founder/ Executive Director Medical Marijuana, Inc. (MMI), the first company to acknowledge opportunities in the quickly inflating medical marijuana market, are set to employ a tax remittance card during the last quarter of the year. Customers receive a debit or medical revenue card to use with a POS system that is set to recognize tax ID numbers and tax rates, thus ensuring security in transactions. Another effective effort put in place by MMI is the elimination of cash, which also deters loss not only from the customers, but also from the businesses. In conjunction with this new stance on medical marijuana, The 99 High Art Collective will launch a special gallery exhibiting psychedelic art by renowned Venice Beach artist, Dean Chamberlain, featuring portraits of Terrence McKenna and Ram Dass among many others, as well as becoming a distributor of medical marijuana. This is the 13th Cannabis Collective to use the new tax remittance card. Part of the proceeds received from art sales will go to The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), an established supporter of medicinal marijuana research. The brains behind the project, Yvonne aka 99, hopes the gallery/collective hybrid will inspire healing on not only a physical level, but mentally as well, stating that, We believe that art and healing are inseparable. AYAHUASCA VISIONS ART EXHIBIT OPENS IN VENICE On November 6th, I attended the first North American show opening of “AYAHUASCA VISIONS” – Sacred Art from the Amazon” by Pablo Amaringo, the father of Neo-Amazonica art, and works by Mita and Moises, at the 99 High Art Collective in Venice, CA. These paintings are a portal into the spirit world. They remind us of our abilities to heal through art and through the higher consciousness of plant wisdom. ”The 99 High Art Collective seeks to expand minds, hearts and souls with their exclusive NeoAmazonica exhibit, which runs through December 31st, 2009. Considered one of the world’s greatest visionary artists, Pablo Amaringo is renowned for his highly complex, colorful and intricate paintings of his visions from drinking the ayahuasca brew. As noted by visionary artist, Robert Venosa, “The high mission of art, through its illusions, is to foreshadow higher states of realities, and no one does this better in the depiction of the Ayahuascan worlds than Pablo.” Pablo Amaringo is curator in chief of a Museum of the Marvelous, a gallery situated in a parallel dimension where the demons and spirits, plant-teachers and sprites of the shamanic world accessed through Ayahuasca are all too real… Pablo’s eidetic memory, his recall of his extensive journeys in alternate realities, combine with his artistic skills to create a visual record of an invisible landscape that few others will ever explore. His reputation as the master artist of shamanic worlds is honestly come by, and well-deserved. - Dennis McKenna, Ph.D. Enthopharmacologist, Author, Researcher, Visionary and Co-Author with brother Terence McKenna of “The Invisible Landscape” Each painting in the exhibit took me into another world and other dimensions of reality and the entire exhibit is transcendent. If you are interested in what lies beyond the ordinary waking state, you will enjoy this exhibit. Cannabis Clubs Go Mobile: Get Your Weed Delivered TODAY By Emily Green Things We Love L .A.'s marijuana smoking isn't going to let that pesky ordinance that's forced the shutdown of over 400 of the city's weed shops get in the way of their bong rip frequency and steady supply of greenery. So what to do when you can't operate your business out of a shop? Go mobile, duh! The 99 High Art Collective on Abbot Kinney in Venice has started a delivery service and posted the following message on their website announcing the news to their loyal patients: “The 99 High Art Collective acknowledged as the preeminent force in all things psychedelic, visionary art and medical marijuana will be debuting its delivery service on June 7th, 2010. We invite all current patients to indulge in the convenience of prompt and effortless deliveries throughout the Westside, including Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and beyond. 10am to 10pm. Same great strains, prices, and love." Brilliant! Who wouldn't want to have their weed delivered?? It's just like ordering pizza, with an extensive online delivery menu to choose from. So have no fear, friends -- just because the weed shop around the corner got the shutter doesn't mean it can't exist and keep you in a nice comfy haze. It's going to be a great summer. blogspot.com cynthia johnston ~My Way IS the High Way. ~ I have a friend who is 89 years old. I call her Miss E. She has scoliosis, among other health problems. Her twisted body is filled with tiny, excruciating fractures. In the few years I’ve known her, she has been in constant pain. “My back is killing me,” is something I heard her say pretty much every day. Cut to Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, California: The 99 High Art Gallery, a medical marijuana collective that boldly crossed the line into the fun zone. In fact, I found out about them in ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE. Every Friday at 99 they had ‘Get Happier Hour’. Trust me, that was a scene. And it was a lot of fun. But aside from all the amazing people I met there, especially the lovely 99 herself, I got turned on to something far more important than a cool scene and fun new friends. (Medical Marijuana). I’d expected medical marijuana to help me. But never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d hear Miss E. say her back feels fine. And that, your honor, is because of the happy scene created around medical marijuana at the 99 High Art Gallery and Medical Marijuana Collective on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, California.
