SILENTAUCTIONRULES
1. Bids are placed by writing your first and last name and phone number on the first available line on the bid
sheet corresponding to the item number.
2. Bidding begins with the stated minimum bid. Silent bids must increase previous bid by the stated minimum
increase or the bid will be invalid. Bids must be made by adults (18 years of age or older) only.
3. The Silent Auction will close in two phases: Section 1 at 7:50 pm and Section 2 at 7:55 pm at which point
the bid sheets are collected. The person who is the highest written bidder at the close of the auction will be
the winner of the item entitled to purchase it at the highest price. In the event of a dispute, each bidder
accepts and agrees that the winning bid will be determined by and in the sole discretion of the auction chair
(or such other person as TLU may in its discretion designate) and that such determination shall be binding,
final and not appealable. Each bidder waives any right to contest same. TLU reserves the right to disallow
any bid or bidder in its sole discretion, and each bidder waives any right to contest same.
4. Item winners will be posted on the overhead visual display during the live auction. Item winners will also be
posted by the silent auction area. Items must be picked up during or immediately following the live auction.
Payment may be made with cash, check, VISA, Master-Card, Discover or AmEx. Each item winner will be
mailed a receipt after the auction. Receipts will be available on request the evening of the auction.
5. Payment is due in full the evening of the auction. TLU reserves the right to sell unpaid items to the next
highest bidder. All sales are final and no refunds will be made.
6. Each auction item is “as is” and does not include any warranty or representation of any kind as to the
condition or fitness of the bid items or as to the existence or lack of any defects. Each bidder agrees to
make his own investigation of such items and is not relying upon TLU or anyone else for their decision to
bid or purchase any item. No one except the bidder has caused the bidder to bid and purchase any item.
7. As a condition precedent to participating in the auction, each bidder expressly waives and releases TLU, the
auction chair, the auction organizers, and all persons involved with them in running the auction, from any
claim or cause of action of any kind which they might have arising or relating in any way to the auction, bid
process, bid items, auction results, and any bid dispute determinations.
