Bigfoot Soccer Tournament.
We are very excited to be
hosting one of the largest
youth soccer tournaments in
Washington.
The Bigfoot Tournament
creates a great environment
for soccer as well as team
bonding. We hope everyone
takes advantage of all Bigfoot
has to offer. Enjoy the
great food from our local
vendors, watch the night
game, participate in the
dance and take a swim in
the river. While at Bigfoot
please take advantage of the
close proximity to historic
downtown Snohomish where

Academy. Snohomish, WA Snohomish Youth Soccer Club
announces that it has been
accepted as a member of the
U.S. Soccer Developmental
Academy U-12 Program for
the 2016-17 season. The U.S.
Soccer Development Academy
is a comprehensive program
that provides education,
resources and support to
impact club environments
with the goal of developing
elite players. The USSDA
is the highest level of youth
soccer competition in the
United States, and there are
currently only two other
USSDA U15/16 and U17/18
programs (Seattle Sounders
FC and Crossfire Premier)
in the state of Washington.
The Development Academy
philosophy is based on
increased training, less total
games, and more meaningful
games using international
rules of competition. It
connects National Team
coaches directly with the
Academy clubs to develop and
identify players and coaches
for involvement in the youth
national team system. We are
very excited to be part of this
growing program.

7th Annual Bids For Kids
Auction
We are happy to announce
another successful Bids For
Kids Auction. This year it
was held at the Thomas
Family Farm. Each year
the event brings together
over 300 members of the
community. It’s a fun evening
and a great cause! Our auction
provides funding for essential
programs, such as Financial
Aid and TOPSoccer, allowing
us to serve more young
athletes in our area.

B00 Black Team Represented
WA in the Region IV President’s
Cup and made it to the Semi
Finals! Congratulations on a
great season!
Snohomish United 00’
Black represented the state
of Washington at the 2016
Region IV President’s Cup
playoffs this June.
After winning the 2016
U15 WYS President’s Cup,
the Snohomish United U15
Boys Black Team led by Coach
Pat Henderson meticulously
prepared for the next step.
Many players had arranged
to complete final projects
and take final exams early, as
well as miss their last week
of school. Most of the boys
arrived in Denver, CO on June
12 in order to start acclimating
to high altitude and high
temperatures.
Game one of the regional
championships was played on
Tuesday, June 14 v. Porterville
United (Nor. Cal) and after
a hard fought match the
game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Both teams were very evenly
matched. Game two (June
15) v. Arsenal (Utah) saw
Snohomish United go down
1-0 early in the game. The
boys battled back, and scored
the tying goal down a player
resulting in another hard
fought draw. Going into
game 3, all four teams in the
group were in position to
take 1st place in the bracket
due to all four teams had
tied both of their first two
games.Snohomish United and
Porterville United ended up
tied for first with only 2 goals
scored against them each,
while the other two teams
(Utah and CO Rapids) each
had 3 goals scored against.
Game 3 (v. Colorado Rapids)
was one for the ages. With the
other game from the bracket
being played simultaneously
on an adjacent field it was
any one of the teams from
the groups shot for first place.
Snohomish United went up a
goal in the first minute, and
then scored again soon after.
Meanwhile, on the adjoining
field, Porterville was also up
2-0, the two teams remaining
neck and neck. In the 2nd half,
the Snohomish United defense
made a mistake with an “own
goal” putting them at 2-1. On
the adjoining field, Porterville
went up 3-0. With 20 minutes
left in the half it looked like
Snohomish United would pull
out the win, but it wouldn’t be
enough to seal first place and
move on to the quarterfinals.
With minutes remaining Utah
scored a goal on the adjoining
field and Porterville quickly
answered with another of their
own, holding on to a 4-1 lead.
With under a minute to go in
our game,Colorado took down
one of United’s players in the
box and the referee pointed to
the spot awarding a penalty
kick. Snohomish United
scored off the penalty and
seconds later the final whistle
blew, giving Snohomish a
3-1 win. Snohomish’s only
hope for securing first place,
was if Utah scored one
more on the adjoining field,
giving Snohomish one less
goal scored against than
Porterville. And with seconds
to go in that game, Utah put
one in! Final score of that
game was Porterville 4 Utah
2 and Snohomish United with
a 1st place in the bracket and
moving on to quarterfinals! Quarterfinals on Friday,
June 17 were vs. MSC United
(Arizona). Snohomish United
went up 1-0 in the first half
and seemed confident going
into the second half. MSC
tied it up in the 2nd with a
free kick near the 18 and the
rest of the half played at a 1-1
tie, until just minutes to go in
regulation when a cross came
in and a Snohomish United
player scored off of a back heel.
Snohomish United pulled out
the 2-1 win!
Semi Finals, Saturday, June
18 vs. Players Elite (Nevada).
This game proved to be the
biggest challenge so far for
Snohomish United. Players
Elite was quicker to the ball
in the first half, though both
teams were showing their
fatigue and mounting injuries.
Nevada went up 1-0 and held
it for nearly the entire second
half. With game regulation
time nearly up, a free kick,
beautifully to the head of a
Snohomish United player (and
then beautifully put into the
opposing goal) was reversed
by the ref who called foul on
Snohomish United. Once play
resumed and with Snohomish
United giving it all they had
to get at least one goal in, the
referee called time on the
game and Snohomish ended
their incredible run with a 2-0
loss in the semi-finals. Players
Elite went on to win the finals
and will represent Region IV
in the US Youth President’s
Cup National Championships.
Snohomish United wishes
them the best of luck in
representing our region.
