The first phase at Cody Park was completed in July and Redfield’s Phase 1 was successfully handed over this month. Further progress has been made on our Main Contracting aspirations with the award of infrastructure roads and sewers at RAF Uxbridge and two bulk earthworks contracts for Countryside and the Inglis Consortium at Barnet. The Estimating Department is busy working on further main contracting schemes and hopes to secure more work shortly. Our traditional core groundwork has continued to grow and deliver quality work on time and safely, winning repeat work with our existing clients as well as some new ones. Continued success has allowed us to employ 8 new members of staff to further commit to our 3 year expansion business plan and to invest heavily in new plant and equipment as set out in our plant page at the back. In the next quarter we are looking to further recruit and purchase more plant. I would like to personally thank Gwyn McGrath and the site teams for helping us attain the OHSAS 18001 standard, which again shows Natta’s commitment to the highest safety standards. Going forward we are planning to launch a specialist basements division utilising our current proven track record, expertise and design capability to tap into the London market for retro fit basements for existing buildings. We are currently talking to a number of potential clients. Earlier this month a team from Natta took part in Weston Homes Charity Golf Day in aid of St Clare Hospice. They beat their last years target and raised a staggering £51,000. We would like to congratulate Bob Weston and his team on their success and thank them for such an enjoyable day. You can see details of the cheque presentations from our own Golf Day below. I also want to say a personal congratulation to my wife Joanne who recently completed the Great North Run in memory of her Dad Peter Dawe. She raised over £1,000 for Alzheimer’s Society which is a great achievement. It is important as a team that we keep the positive summer momentum moving forward into the traditionally more challenging autumn and winter period. Keep up the good work and be safe. John Whelan—Managing Director New care home for Healthcare Development Services NATTA GROUP 2013 CHARITY GOLF DAY The Natta Group Charity Golf Day on Wednesday 29th May 2013, at the Sherfield Oaks Golf Club in Sherfield on Loddon was again a resounding success. We raised an amazing £11,250 and recently presented cheques to our two nominated charities; BRIGHTWELLS GOSTREY CENTRE The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, registered no. 1095197, for the Centre for Children and Young People at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton and the Brightwells Gostrey Centre for the elderly, registered no.1053876, based in Farnham for £4,500 and £6,750 respectively. We wish to extend our thanks to everyone who took part. A special mention goes to John Murphy and Sue Lipyeat for all their hard work on organising and coordinating the day. Again we were delighted by the outstanding generosity of all the players and our thanks go to all our clients and suppliers for their donations, without who, the day would not be a success. Following our successful audit on 6th and 7th of September I am pleased to announce that we have achieved OHSAS 18001 accreditation for Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS). This important accolade is widely viewed as the world’s most recognised occupational health and safety management systems standard and is further testament to Natta’s continual improvement in our internal processes. We have also successfully procured the SMAS Worksafe Contractor Accreditation. With the formation of SSIP some of our clients now simply require its suppliers to hold a certificate issued by SSIP rather than looking for specific schemes. This will avoid the need for us to register under a number of different schemes, saving us time and money.
