Many things have changed in the casino industry since the early days, not the least of which is
that slot machines, affectionately referred to as one-arm bandits, were originally designed to
play while standing up.
It was in the 1950’s that a young entrepreneur, George Gasser, while making a sales call at
Harvey’s casino in Lake Tahoe, noticed that several gamblers were taking stools from the bar over
to the slot area in order to sit while playing the machines. He quickly realized that players who
had seats would generally play the machines longer and, armed with that new-found knowledge,
returned home to Youngstown, Ohio to build one of the casino industry’s first slot stools – a
simple round seat and basic 4-leg frame with a footrest, the Gasser model #218.
It didn’t take long for operators to see that providing seats to slot players generally resulted in
increased playing time at the machines and, therefore, more revenue for the casino.
Gasser has been an innovator since its earliest days in business... creating new styles, improving
functionality and humanizing comfort... always to solve a seating problem, enhance an operation
or simply make life easier.

Protective Edge Colors
The Gasser Protective Edge is available in a selection of eleven (11) standard colors and four (4)
insert options. Custom or special order colors may be available on request for an additional cost.
Protective Edge Style Options
The Gasser Protective Edge is available in a selection of eight (8) different profile styles.
Wood Stain Colors
Various Gasser wood frame chairs & stools are made of either Ash or Maple and offered in a
choice of ten (10) standard stain colors. Custom stain colors are available for extra charge.
Note: Most stain colors adapt differently to the grain pattern and general characteristics of each wood species as well
as will exhibiting variations in color intensity from product to product. This is a natural occurrence and should not be
considered as a defect or flaw.
Metal Finish Colors
Gasser’s powder coating finish is a process where metal components have a special paint
applied as a powder, then baked and cured to create a highly durable finish. Powder Coating
is available in eleven (11) standard colors and three (3) textured colors. Custom colors are
available for extra charge.
Base Styles
Shown are eighteen (18) of the most popular base styles for various gaming stools with typical
21” to 27” seat heights.
Mobility and Comfort Options
These mobility and comfort options are available on most models: Casters (chairs only), MegaGlides, Self-Return Swivels, Tilt-Swivels, 360˚ Swivels and Player Adjustable Seat Height controls.

Gasser offers a few special purpose items designed to improve efficiency, enhance comfort or
simply make life easier.
ADA Seating To meet ADA requirements, Gasser can adapt or create variations of most models for any game.
Drawings/renderings can be prepared for evaluation when needed.
