Laredo Animal Protective Society January 2013 FROM LAPS FOSTER HOME When a dog is being fostered in a good loving home it begins to know what a caring affectionate family feels like. In order for any dog to become a loving pet, it must first have experience and opportunity to be around a human family. This experience is even more important for a shelter dog and that is why it is a prodigious idea to foster them. Mr. and Mrs. Gutierrez have opened their hearts and home to many shelter pets and in return have been rewarded with the satisfaction of helping provide a second chance to those in need. When asked what kind of audience would be the appropriate for fostering an animal they replied, “Those who are open minded”. And that is completely correct. Dogs need to be treated with care in many different ways. Also, a foster dog learns to get along with the other dogs. Their pets did not seem to mind the new family member at all. They all got along pretty well. They seemed very happy, especially Mr. and Mrs. Gutierrez! Shelter dogs are special living creatures. For them to get the opportunity of a second chance in life we, as humans, should try to the best of our abilities to give them the life they truly deserve. That is why there should be more foster parents willing to foster these dogs... to help them become a loving pet. At this current time the Gutierrez family is fostering two dogs; T-bone, a Sharpie mix, and Precioso, a special needs Shih Tzu. This is Precioso; He is completely blind, he follows the noise of bells. Very Precious Pup. Ready for adoption. After no one had come looking for her, LAPS began the process of vaccination, quarantine, and shortly after she was spayed and ready for adoption. Cleo had been to many Adoption events at PETCO searching for her forever home. Her lucky day arrived November 24 when Mr. Oliver Saenz, fell in love with CLEO. Even though Cleo was a bit hesitant she warmed up quite quickly. Cleo now has a Home, and a sister Gucci. “She is nothing but wonderful, and I love her sooo Much!” Mr. Saenz, Cleo’s Dad, had stated.
