In August a baked potato bar was set up to raise money for Missy Mishler a TWV
employee. A total of $862 was raised to help Missy and her family. Bake sale items
were also accepted and sold for donation by the TWV Auxiliary. We have collected
food items and are currently collecting paper and personal care items for Missy and
her family. “Thank You” to all who participated. Pictured below are Cindy Rowe

Show Your Stuff was a great time for the Manor Residents to share their hobbies, collections, or
their very special items. Many of the residents shared their collections of dolls, bells and antique
items. Others had items they had painted, quilted, crocheted or history of their life. One of the very
many interesting items was that of Jan Shoppel, her wedding gown was made from a parachute.
Thank you to those who took part by coming to see and hear about these wonderful gifts.
The Fair Comes to Thurston Woods
During Fair Week our residents enjoyed the Fair right here at our
facility. The residents made farm animals, balloon people and
painted faces. A variety of acts such as balloon animal making and
tight rope walking were enjoyed by the residents. There were
turkeys strutting around for all to see. And, all the fair food you
could possibly want to eat.
Have you heard?
Layne and Joella are Goat Milking Champions! The
ladies participated in the milking contest at the fair
and won. Be sure to stop by the Gathering Place
and see their trophy.
