Example: finding a parcel’s zoning (zoning as “active layer” in step 6) 1. Choose Land Records 2. Check disclaimer, pick Public Access 3. Choose Parcel Viewer (IMap has additional layers such as aerials, wetlands, etc., but loads slower) To access tax data 4. Choose either to search by 5. If parcel crosses a section line, more than one record will show; use “zoom to these records” to get entire parcel (If only one record comes up, just click on the record number) Can also access tax data here 6. Parcel has now been zoomed to and is highlighted, and more layers have appeared on the right. Check the “visible” box and click the radio button next to zoning to make it the “active” layer. Then click “refresh map.” 7. Map shows zoning by colors ; click “identify” tool on left, then move cursor (a cross-hairs) over the parcel and click on it. A table will come up listing that zoning. NOTE: Zoning definitions vary by Town – contact the Town for more details.
