Art Health and Wellbeing workshops for carers The carers workshops provide an opportunity to spend time away from the caring role and take part in a creative activity. It’s also an opportunity to spend time with other carers and share stories and experiences. Discover new ways to use everyday materials to create colourful and expressive arts work through participating in fun and creative challenges. During the workshop participants will have the opportunity to develop printing, collage and mixedmedia skills. Everyone is an artist! Monday 13 July at 6pm ‘Thank You for the Days’ with Gary Brooking £4.50 A workshop on how to use popular songs, humorous poems, photos, the Internet and every-day objects to engage people in singing, sharing life stories and making decorative memory maps and collages. The session will involve many themes including childhood, youth, adult life, the home, play, work, holidays, leisure, dating and family life. Be prepared to sing, to share personal anecdotes and to make a collage. Kingswinford Library Market Street. Kingswinford DY6 9LD Thursday 18 June at 10.30am Movie Music to Relax To with Siddique Hussain £4.50 This is a fun workshop on how music, themes, tunes and songs from popular movies can help to recall memories of movie going. The session will be interactive and include music from musicals, westerns, war dramas as well as comedies. The audience should be prepared to recall and share their memories and anecdotes of cinema going of the past. Tuesday 20 October at 10.30am Audio Heritage Recording and Oral History with Scott Dale £4.50 Tell your stories to future generations by creating an audio time capsule of significant events in your life. Capture memories of childhood, work, family, achievements, tragedy and history. We’ll record your voice and create a cd and online audio. The workshop will allow you to learn more about vocal presentation, script and audio editing. Archives and Local History Centre Wednesday 19 August at 10.30am Tipton Road, Dudley DY1 4SQ Make an item from Polymer Clay and Wire with Pascale Bigot £4.50 During this workshop you will have the opportunity to design and create your own piece of jewellery. You will learn or develop skills and techniques using leather, polymer clay and semi precious stones and wire wrapping. Thursday 24 September at 1pm Textiles and Fabrics with Jessica Evans £4.50 Learn how to fabric paint and silkscreen print. Experiment and make your designs a reality. Create a stunning gift, a unique item of clothing or an item for the home. No experience necessary - just bring your imagination. If you have something that you would like to breathe new life into, like an item of clothing or a cushion cover, then bring it along. Wednesday 25 November at 1pm Christmas Jewellery with Lesley Evans £4.50 Jewellery making workshop suitable for beginners through to advanced. Make jewellery gifts for Christmas such as earrings and bracelets. Create angel or snowmen earrings for adults or children, or a Christmas tree or angel decoration made from wire and beads.
