About the Volunteer Center
The Volunteer Center assists the community in solving important community needs with organized volunteer service. Specialty certifications and
trainings are provided for volunteers. Founded in 1971, the agency has a
staff of 4 employees, 7 volunteer office staff and 1,218 active community
volunteers. Volunteers utilize their knowledge and skills in one of 4 signature programs and 93 local non-profit, civic and faith based agencies with a
cost of just 53 cents/per volunteer hour. In 2015, volunteers served a total
of over 121,000 hours in the Allen County community. RSVP is a program of
Corporation for National Service, Points of Light Foundation and Hands On
Network. 87% of every dollar goes directly back into the community.
