Hey kids, be a Book Reviewer for the Chicago Tribune this summer! Summer is a great time to crack open a book. To encourage children’s literacy and jump-start creativity, we’re once again offering kids the chance to be published in the pages of Printers Row Journal through the Chicago Tribune Children’s Read & Write program. Children ages 5-16 are invited to submit reviews about books they read this summer. At the start of the school year, we’ll publish a selection of reviews in Printers Row Journal and online. Here’s how to participate: • First, read a book. Go to www.chicagotribune.com/readandwrite or visit your local library for suggestions. • Next, in 150 words or less, write your thoughts about the book’s lessons, storylines and characters. Younger children are welcome to draw instead. • Visit www.chicagotribune.com/readand write to download and fill out a permission slip. Fill it out and email it along with your written review (attached as Word or plain text files, please) to print ersrow@tribpub.com. Pictures should be submitted as PDF files. • All submissions should be emailed by Aug. 10. Young Artists' Spotlight Calling all young artists!
