INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF MUSIC
Tomorrow’s world-class musicians today
The Royal College of Music provides specialised musical
education and professional training at the highest international
level, within an environment that stimulates innovation and
research. Nearly eight hundred talented young musicians
are attracted to the College each year from over fifty
different countries to develop the musical skills, knowledge,
understanding and resourcefulness which will equip them
to contribute significantly to musical life in this country and
internationally as elite soloists, orchestral players, ensemble
performers, teachers and outreach workers.
Alongside these students, the RCM Junior Department nurtures
approximately three hundred 8 to 18-year-olds each Saturday and the RCM
Sparks learning and participation programme reaches out to over three
thousand schoolchildren, adults and members of the community each year.
The College has played a key role in the development of music in the last
100 years. Distinguished alumni include composers such as Holst, Vaughan
Williams and Britten; conductors such as Leopold Stokowski, Sir Colin Davis
and Sir Roger Norrington; singers such as Dame Joan Sutherland,
Sir Thomas Allen and Alfie Boe and instrumentalists such as Sir James
Galway, John Lill and Natalie Clein.
The College’s influence is not merely historical – it continues to grow year
by year, attracting some of the finest talent of each generation. The training,
research, resources and performance opportunities which they benefit from
at the Royal College of Music today, will enable our students to go on to be
tomorrow’s world-class musicians. They are the future of music.

Becoming a Patron of the RCM Circles for Excellence is an enjoyable and
fulfilling way to support one of the world’s leading conservatoires, and to have
an impact on the future of music.
All donations from Patrons support the ongoing work of the Royal College of Music.
The characteristics of study at the RCM, such as one-to-one tuition, world-class
professors, masterclasses by leading professionals and unlimited chamber coaching,
are all expensive to provide but are the factors which raise our training into the
realm of excellence. Circles for Excellence Patrons underpin this work.
Patron membership offers you the opportunity to increase your philanthropic
relationship with the RCM, to support directly the training and development of our
talented young musicians and to enjoy a close and exciting involvement in the
College’s life as well as a personalised service through our Development Department.
In recognition of your generosity, for Patrons joining the Director’s Circle and
Chairman’s Circle who have a particular passion, we are pleased to direct your
donation to a specific area of our work. We also offer Patrons of the Chairman’s
Circle the opportunity of a specific credit, such as a named scholarship or
concert performance.
