This beautiful place which is open for visitors
today is the most clean and educative place of
Istanbul. The Divine Lovers, wise people of God
science, always go there and bring their face in
touch with their door. In 1860 the tomb was under
a big construction and it was reconstructed
seriously in 1982.
Address: Düğmeciler caddesi Ümmi Sinan sokak
no:5 Eyüp - İstanbul - TURKEY
After the death of Sheikh M. Talip Kargi, upon his
testament, this place was established as an
Association in 1993. The preservation of the tomb,

The Rose Poem by Ümmi Sinan
I dreamt I came to a magnificent city
The Generation of Rose - Kargı Family
whose palace was the rose, rose.
The crown and throne of the great sultan,
his garden and chambers were the rose, rose.
Here they buy and sell but roses
and the roses are the scales they use,
Weighing roses with more roses,
the marketplace and bazaar are all roses, rose.
The white rose and the red rose
grew coupled in one garden.
Their faces turn as one toward the thorn.
Both thorn and blossom are the rose, rose.
Soil is the rose and stone is the rose,
withered is the rose, fresh is the rose.
Within the Lord's private gardens
both slender cypress and old maple are the rose, rose.
The rose is turning the waterwheel
and gets ground between the stones.
The wheel turns round as the water flows.
Its power and its stillness are the rose, rose.
From the rose a tent appears
filled with an offering of everything.
Its gatekeepers are the holy prophets.
The bread and the wine they pour are the rose, rose.
Oh Ummi Sinan, heed the mystery
of the sorrow of nightingale and rose.
Every cry of the forlorn nightingale is for the rose, the rose.
Can you smell the perfume of roses
in the air after reading this poem?
Ummi Sinan gives us a vision where all the world
is filled with roses. A world made of roses. Not
just roses, but “the rose” The Rose.
In Sufi mystical language The Rose is often used
as an image of God, and the heart God is the true
Heart of Being.
The rose unfolds in a gentle circling that invites
one to yield inward. The rose is a symbol of lovers
and of union. The rose resonates strongly with
the gently awakened heart and recognizes its
innate beauty.
When Ummi Sinan recognizes The Rose
everywhere, it is the mystic's recognition that
God has taken up residence within the heart (or,
rather, that the Divine presence has always been
there) and it's the further recognition that all of
creation is somehow within the awakened heart.
Everything encountered is encountered in the
heart.
The Great Master Ummi Sinan has entrusted us
two books for the good of people. One of them is
the “Risale-i Serife-i Istanbul-i Ummi Sinan” and
the other one is his “Divan” which is a proof of
his wisdom. His hymns are sang all over Rumeli
and Anatolia by everyone today.
After Dervish Efendi the grandson of the exalted
Ummi Sinan the Great, Sheikh Rasit Efendi sat
on the post for 60 years. And after him, the
following sheikhs sat on the post in sequence:
Sheikh Ali Riza Efendi who was one of the
grandsons of master Ummi Sinan, the small
Sheikh Rasit Efendi, Nurullah Efendi, Yahya
Galip Kargi, who was the Governor of Ankara
during the Independence War, and who was the
member of parliament from Kirsehir for six terms
after the Announcement of the Turkish Republic.
Hasan Nasuhi Kargi and Mehmet Talip Kargi.
Talip Kargı (The Grandson of Ummi Sinan) was
a great poet and musician and he was the last
Sheikh of the Sinani order.
By God’ s permission, the more people benefit
from his works, the more his deed book will be
filled positively and his name will be remembered
with gratitude.
His wife Vesile Muzaffer Kargı was an artist, the
first woman cartoon artist in Turkey and maybe
the first woman religious painter in the muslim
world. They both rest in peace in Dergah.
He has brought up faithful children who always
pray for him and he left for us exemplary
inheritors of faithfulness and high morality. This
generation is being continued...
The grandsons and daughters continue the Sinani
generation.
