Waterman Primary School Newsletter
Dear Parent/Carers,
Another fantastic week of learning at Waterman. The children continue to impress me with all their work as they apply their skills and
knowledge in different subjects. In PE I saw children getting fit and at the same time organizing words into different groups. They
knew which words were proper nouns, nouns, verbs and adverbs. Fantastic!! I heard children reciting poems, writing suspense stories,
practising spelling - getting them all correct and playing games to extend their vocabulary. Learning is important and everyone at Waterman is striving to do their best by making good progress and more. Mr Cauchi (Head of School)
Dove class continue to find different ways to help them
extend and practise the skills and knowledge needed to
prepare for their SATs in May. In the photos the children
are working collaboratively to understand area and playing
boggle to extend their vocabulary. Thanks to the parent/
carers for supporting the extra homework that children are
asking for to help them practise their skills.
HEARTS continues to work together
- As I said to the children, we continue
to work with other schools in the
HEARTS academy. Both Mrs V Thomas and Miss B Thomas will continue to
support both schools but days changing. Just clarifying as there were some
misunderstanding yesterday. Thanks.
Forest Schools
The children attended Hadleigh Country Park on Tuesday.
They were building dens while using time connectives to
give each other instructions.

Miller’s commitment to the children has been excellent and together we wish him all the best
for his future endeavours. Stay tuned for the goodbye treats that the children and staff are
planning.
After Easter, Mr Chapman will continue to work with class 2 alongside Mrs Stevens and Mrs
Hayley will be working with class 1 alongside Miss Dowers.
Due to your busy schedules leading up to the Easter holidays, you may not have had a chance
to meet all our new teachers in the school. Therefore, I would like to invite the parent/carers
in class 1/2 and reception to join all the staff in these classes on Monday morning 9:00-9:30
in the hall for a cuppa and get to meet them. If you can’t attend this then please catch up with
them at some stage.

Training in
Reports out today!!
Mr Miller and Mrs
Wheatly have completed the course on becoming
a
good/
outstanding teacher.
Mr Vincent has been in
the classroom all day
on Thursday to further
his knowledge.
Please take the time to sit done with your child/children and go
through their successes and talk about their areas for improvement. Ask your child/children to think about what they need to
do to help them show good progress. This will help you to be
prepared for your parent/carer meetings next week.
Thanks again for your support and have a lovely weekend with
your family. Hopefully the sun shines for us all!!! Mr Cauchi
