Based on the novel by Chilean author Alberto Fuguet, the film tells the story of a journalist,
Alfonso Fernandez who dreams of becoming a writer, while doing his internship in the
crime section of the tabloid 'El Clamor'. There he meets a veteran journalist and editor
Saul Faúndez, who moves comfortably between corpses and blood. Alfonso at the
beginning refuses to accept the doubtful morals of his boss, who accepts without question
the facts of everyday life. But gradually Alfonso starts to discover the city with new eyes, its
people and the harsh reality of work and life that permits him to begin to understand
better the cynical Faúndez view of life, who has nicknamed Alfonso as 'Varguitas'
(referring to Vargas Llosa). Red Ink is also a great look at the current Lima and its
contradictions.

Based on the novel by the Peruvian Nobel awarded writer Mario Vargas Llosa, the story
takes place in a military college and aims to be the portrait of a social microcosm that
reproduces on a small scale all the diversity and complexity of the Peruvian society, in the
context of discipline and military values.
The film with a deep critical view focuses on the death of the "Slave", a weak cadet abused
by his peers. The confusing incident which caused the tragedy unfolds a cast of characters
that represent different members of society.
Among them, "The Jaguar", the "Poet" and Lieutenant Gamboa among others with their
lights and shadows build a universe where the complexity of human behaviour is exposed
without prejudice.

Set in India’s hinterland, UP, the film follows young Manjunath Shanmugam’s journey as
he passes out of the elite IIM Lucknow and joins a petroleum company. One day
Manjunath goes missing. When found, he appears very frantic. Both he and his friends had
realised that there is large scale adulteration of fuel taking place. It is so big that no one
says anything. But Manjunath has realised that the fuel is getting adulterated with
kerosene, which is sold cheaper to the ‘poorest of the poor’. This unnerves him. He has
had an elite education and if he does not do something, then who will? In a dramatic
sequence of events, he gets several threats to his life, yet decides to do the right thing.
Surely enough, he is shot dead on duty. There seems no hope, but then suddenly
unrelated people combine to take up the fight against the mafia, and get him justice.
