July 30-31 2016 Grateful for Children and Youth Holy Communion Every Sunday at each service 2nd and 4th Saturdays We pray that you may once again meet the Risen Christ through the Word and Sacrament, and through the fellowship of this family of faith. If you do not have a church home, we invite you to worship with our Ascension family again. All bapized Chrisans who believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in the bread and wine as the word of God declares are welcome to receieve the Sacrament of Holy Communion with us today. Please follow the direcons of the ushers as you come to the altar or to a side staon. Children who have not received First Communion instrucon are invited to come forward for a blessing. If medical/health concerns give you reason to avoid the wine and bread, please remember the teaching of the Chrisan Church that Jesus Christ is fully present in either element alone, bread or wine. (Gluten-free wafers and white grape juice, in the center of each tray, are also available.) May God bless you in your worship today! Dear Ascension Youth and Congregaon, I can’t thank the youth, parents, staff and congregaon enough for all the support over the last year. I am so sad to say goodbye, but know that God is going to do amazing things in and through this church and youth program. Ascension Lutheran School has been commi"ed to providing academic excellence in a caring Chris#an community for over 50 years. Join our family and together we will partner to nurture and encourage your child as they grow and develop academically, spiritually and emo#onally through each level of their educa#on. h"p://www.alschool.org Thanks and So Long (connued from front) I am energized and opmisc about the future of our youth program! We have spent the last year working together, visioning, and trying to set the course for where we want to be. One of our main focuses this year has been on the importance of becoming not simply consumers of ministry, but agents. This next month will be a perfect opportunity to connue exploring that concept. Prior to hiring a permanent youth director, the Sr. Luther League is going to self-sustain. With the leadership of Pastor Tim, the Youth Commiee, high school leaders, and all volunteers who will step up to this challenge, I am confident that this vision will carry forward and our group will thrive.
