As a Patient What to Expect at FLAMOM FLAMOM is an event unlike any other. Here is a basic overview to help our Patients know what to expect from their FLAMOM Experience. What do I need inside? People line up early and wait patiently. Before the doors open: • Return gear to your car or plan to haul it around all day. • Get any medications or other essentials that you might want (we frown on leaving once you are inside). • You won’t need an ID, insurance, proof of employment or money! - No Narcotics are allowed on the property. - No Narcotics will be given out during our event. - No Exceptions… The FLAMOM Event is a NON-SMOKING EVENT… The entire FLAMOM experience focuses on promoting Good Oral Health as part of Good Overall Health. We ask for your cooperation by being considerate of all attendees (patients and volunteers alike). Smoking IS NOT ALLOWED from the time you enter the first Gate until your treatment is complete and you are escorted to the South Parking Lot. There are no “Smoke Breaks”, no “Designated Smoking Areas”, and a “Zero Tolerance” Policy in Place. Parking Lot Gate 2 Routing Large Dome (Registration) Dental Triage Small Dome (Patient Education) X-Ray Dental Triage Waiting Post-Routing Waiting Panoramic Medical Triage (Pre-Med) X-Ray Waiting Treatment Areas • Hygiene - Pink Numbing waiting • Fillings - Green (Except Hygiene, Lab, • Extractions - Red Medical Triage Waiting Pedo, & Adult Pedo Pts) • "On-Deck" Waiting Numbing Station • Hygiene Checkout/Pharmacy • Fillings • Extractions Exit Step 1-Patient Line Up (South Parking lot by Gate 2-SE (South East)) ● Receive numbered wristband. ● You will be greeted by our lead sponsor, ● You will be escorted through Gate 2-SE to Patient Registration (Large Dome) where you will be seated and given a nametag so we can call you by name and make you feel more comfortable. ●You will complete a patient registration form & patient survey. Step 2 – Patient Education You will be escorted to Patient Education (Small Dome) featuring a brief presentation related to all of the aspects of Good Oral Health. Step 3 - Medical Triage It’s important that we know you are healthy for treatment. Medical Providers will review your medical history & check your vital signs, including: • Taking your pulse • Taking your blood pressure • Testing your blood sugar if you are a diabetic • Asking about medications and allergies • Determining whether pre-medication is needed before Dental Treatment. Keep Up with Your Patient Folder All Day! A friendly FLAMOM escort will lead you from station to station. Never go anywhere without an escort! Every patient will have a digital panoramic x-ray taken to assist our Dentists in diagnosing and treating your condition. While the digital x-ray exposure is minimal, please notify us if you are pregnant! Step 5 – Dental Triage A FLAMOM Dentist will perform an oral examination and discuss what we can do for you today. Step 6 - Routing Here you will be assigned a “golden ticket” and be shown to a waiting area based on your treatment plan. Step 7 – Patient Waiting It’s a long day so please be patient. We want to treat each of you with the best care possible. Guess What? More Waiting! Again, we ask for your patience. It will be worth the wait! But What If… I’m hungry or need a restroom? For the clinic to flow smoothly and safely, patients must remain seated and in order. • There will be refreshments served to you at set times. • Raise your hand and a Patient Ambassador (escort) will assist you to the restroom. • This is a SMOKE FREE EVENT…NO SMOKING or SMOKE BREAKS. What If My Child is Being Seen? • • • We keep parents/guardians together with children. We do our best to make kids feel relaxed and special. Children are treated in a separate pediatric (PEDO) area. What if I’m just here to support someone else? That’s great! You may wait in the Companion/Family Waiting Area located near the exit until the patient has completed his/her treatment. Don’t worry…you can’t miss them as they are escorted to the Exit Interview/Pharmacy areas. What You May Experience As Part of Your Treatment • • • • • Our Medical Staff will conduct Medical Triage for a Medical Clearance. You will have an X-ray taken. You might be numbed for a procedure. You might get some lab work done. Wherever you go, an escort will lead you! Next Step - Your Actual Treatment Kind and Caring Professionals will provide mainly the following services: • Clean Teeth • Fill Cavities • Pull Teeth Patient Exit Interview /Pharmacy is Next. You’re Almost Done! Here you will: • Turn in your patient folder. • Review any post-treatment instructions. • Fill any prescriptions ordered by your Dentist. • Give us feedback about the event and offer suggestions on how to improve the experience. • Take home a goody bag to help you take good care of your teeth.
