ROCCA DEL ZOPPO “BARBERA DEL MONFERRATO” D.O.C. A “fizzy” wine, young and brilliant, with an intensely bright ruby red colour. The aromas herald all this wine can offer: vinous , fresh fruit and persistent trace of maraschino cherry . The flavour is tasty, full and balanced, tempered and made lively by a slight fizzyness. It is a wine that can go very well with any meal, offering its best with typical Monferrato dishes. To be served at 14-15°C. Appellation: BARBERA DEL MONFERRATO Denominazione di Origine Controllata Grape variety: Barbera 100% Production area: Nizza Monferrato and surrounding areas Vineyard position and altitude: South, south-west 180/250 meters a.s.l Soil: Calcareous clayey marl Wine training system: Cordon training on Guyot support Vineyard age: From 10 to 30 years Grape harvest: Hand-picked, after late ripening, in the second half of September Planting density: 100 quintals per hectare Vinification and ageing: After pressing , the wine is made at a controlled temperature of around 25°C with a short maceration of 6-8 days. A second fermentation follows, in stainless steel vats, with selected yeasts to attain that vivacity which makes the product easy to drink.
