Our workshop theme, Benediction and Bacchanalia, will be one of contrasts! Masses and masques,
liturgical and theatrical music, sacred and springtime-profane! To honor the 400th anniversary of
the publication of Giovanni Gabrieli’s Symphonia Sacrae, the entire workshop will play and sing
one of his splendid motets, conducted by Larry Lipnik, then throw him a belated publishing party!

Get the jump on summer with a weekend of early music at
Wisdom House, an idyllic retreat center in rural Connecticut.
Awake to bird song, feast your eyes on the lovely green
countryside, and enjoy delicious meals with good company. Play
wonderful music in small groups with great coaches. The
atmosphere is relaxed and convivial.
In the evenings, join in all-workshop group sessions, English
country dancing, a gala Sunday evening faculty concert and party,
and more. The von Huene Workshop is in residence with music
and instruments for sale. Stop by even if you are not attending the
workshop! Van service will run from New York City. Register now!
In the area, walk in nearby Topsmead State Forest, have ice cream
at Arethusa Farm Dairy, and visit historic downtown Litchfield.
GENERAL INFORMATION
CLASSES are in spacious classrooms with lots of natural light, and are accessible by elevator.
HOUSING options are available for single or double rooms, with hall or private baths.
MEALS are delicious and are included with Room & Board.

SCHEDULE Friday 5/22: Check-in 4:00-5:30. Evening: greetings, group playing, and English Country
Dancing. Saturday 5/23: Classes from 9-5. Evening: large group playing and English country dancing.
Sunday 5/24: Classes from 9-5, 8:00 Gala Faculty Concert and party. Monday 5/25: Classes from
9-12:30, lunch and fond farewells.
