We’re off to the Races…….May 25th!
An exciting jam-packed race season will be kicking off on Friday,
May 25 with Thoroughbred racing taking to the track. As in the
past – racing will be on Friday and Saturday evenings starting
at 7:05 p.m. The horse population will once again be strong
in 2012, and with 13 to 14 jockeys arriving from Trinidad and
Jamaica, it will make for very competitive and interesting racing
along with some fantastic wagering opportunities throughout the
season. The focal point of the Thoroughbred racing season will
be the $25,000 - Saskatchewan Derby to be run on Saturday,
September 8. For reservations to the Terrace Dining Room or
Marquis Cookhouse contact Dana Miller at 683-8839.
* Be sure to book early!
Additional information about the racing program and features can be found at www.marquisdowns.com.
Silk’s will now offer the convenience of soup and salad, plus sandwiches made to order.
Extensive renovations to The Concession will be completed by the beginning of the race season. The menu will include
burgers, chicken fingers, chicken breast burgers, ribs, fries, and rings. Popcorn and ice cream will also be served from the
concession for the convenience of our clients.
NEW to Marquis Downs is a permanent bar on the tarmac - ‘The Lucky Horseshoe’, a walk up bar, serving beer,
coolers, hard liquor, including specialty drinks.
Terrace - Experience fine dining combined with the adrenaline rush of the sport of Thoroughbred racing. Our expert staff at
Marquis are dedicated to making a ‘night at the races’ a memorable experience. From appetizers through to the main course,
we dedicate ourselves to ensuring that your experience will leave you racing back! Enhance your dining experience with our
‘Finishing Line’ dessert and leave satisfied.
Cookhouse - Want to experience the adrenaline of live racing with an exceptional meal? Then consider visiting the Marquis
Downs Cookhouse. Located right beside the track, the Cookhouse offers a stimulation for senses: see the dirt fly – hear the
thunder of the hooves – feel your heart racing as the crowd cheers – smell your dinner coming off the BBQ. Here’s an opportunity
to book your company, family or private party while having the fun and excitement of live Thoroughbred
racing. Our experienced and qualified staff will offer you an exceptional service of food and beverage that will make your event
unforgettable.
BBQ pit – love the smell of a BBQ?
Then stop by the Marquis Downs BBQ pit and grab a burger hot off the grill.
The 23rd Annual Gardenscape was another great success with more
than 25,000 people attending the three day event. This year’s show featured 7 display
gardens, and 180,000 square feet of trade show space. These display gardens were
spectacular with trees in full leaf and plants in full bloom. The 2013 event will be held
