F. RUSSELL HOYT NATIONAL AIRPORTS CONFERENCE Hosted by Orlando International Airport NAC 2016: The Evolution of Airports NAC is perfect for networking and building invaluable relationships. The sessions reflect current airport issues and lessons learned from airport professionals.” Kelly L. Campbell, A.A.E. Executive Director Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport NAC Chair “Connections are foundational to the strength of the aviation industry. The National Airports Conference adds to aerial connections by providing aviation stakeholders a unique opportunity to connect on federal affairs, industry partner issues, and AAAE internal committee concerns. Like me, everyone should plan to be there and make all the connections they can. Alvester T. Coleman, A.A.E. Deputy Director Fayetteville Regional Airport NAC Vice Chair 2 elegates to AAAE’s 2016 F. Russell Hoyt National Airports Conference (NAC) will gather in Orlando, Florida, October 2-4 to discuss timely topics, engage in important networking events, and participate in debates over the future direction of the nation’s aviation industry. The 2016 NAC, hosted by Orlando International Airport, will focus on steps the industry can take to create strategies that work in today’s and tomorrow’s aviation marketplace. This signature AAAE event will begin on Sunday, October 2, with two networking receptions: one for newcomers to AAAE and/or the NAC, followed by a reception for all delegates, newcomers and veterans alike. These introductory gatherings will allow delegates to meet their colleagues in an informal setting and will set the tone for the two days of discussions that will follow. The NAC will conclude on Tuesday, October 4, at 5 p.m. with the popular Carter Cash drawing for $100 bills. You must stay throughout the afternoon on Tuesday to be eligible to win a $100 prize. A tour of the Orlando International Airport led by airport officials will take place Wednesday, October 5, beginning at 9 a.m. Transportation will be provided. Space on the airport tour is limited, so sign up now. Plan to arrive early in Orlando to take advantage of additional educational opportunities by attending the AAAE Accreditation Final Interview Workshop and AAAE Essentials of Airport Business Management Workshop. NAC 16: THE EVOLUTION OF AIRPORTS | Registration Brochure In this incredibly dynamic industry that we all love, this conference uniquely combines relevant and timely topics, networking and face time with the movers and shakers, and a little bit of fun thrown in for good measure. Where else would you rather be than at the NAC? Jennifer Maples, A.A.E. | Aviation Superintendent | City of Phoenix Aviation Department Around Town It’s possible to be in Orlando without visiting the Disney theme parks…but, would you want to? The Disney parks are a highlight of any trip to Orlando, but the city and area provide many more entertainment opportunities. For information on visiting Disney parks, go to disneyworld.disney.go.com Just a few of the other many entertainment highlights in the area are: The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex tells the epic story of the U.S. space program — from the first day through the present. The NEW SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, with the area’s only 360-degree underwater tunnel. Exhibits include both Atlantic and Pacific ocean sealife. Safari Wilderness Ranch, which offers a 260-acre preserve. Chocolate Kingdom — Interactive Factory Adventure Tour, a journey that uncovers how chocolate transforms from the bean into a chocolate bar. The Orlando Eye lifts you up to 400 feet to experience breathtaking 360-degree views of surrounding Central Florida. Weather Orlando’s weather in October includes temperatures rising to 85 degrees during the day and dropping to 66 degrees at night. A sweater or light jacket may be needed in the evening. Average rainfall for the month is 3 inches. Cuisine From the most serious of foodies to the most casual of diners, Orlando has plenty of restaurant options to satisfy every taste and budget. Today Sand Lake Road is home to more than two dozen upscale and casual restaurants. In the Lake Buena Vista area, the menus of Cat Cora, Todd English, Wolfgang Puck and Don Shula attract visitors.
