For nine years in a row, readers of The Knot have voted the Sandbar top ceremony and wedding site. Additionally, readers of weddingwire.com have given the Sandbar the Brides Choice Award for 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015. The Sandbar restaurant pavilion is the most unique venue for weddings on the west coast of Florida and Anna Maria Island, the Beach Wedding Capital of Florida. It is a stand-alone, open-air pavilion steps away from the Gulf of Mexico. The Sandbar’s special events staff and wedding coordinator, Patti McKee, will be with you throughout the planning and event stages. If an indoor air conditioned location for your rehearsal dinner or reception sounds cooler, consider The Studio at Gulf and Pine. It is an elegant art gallery located half block from the Gulf. For more information on The Studio, visit www. studioatgulfandpine.com. For information on the Sandbar Restaurant contact the special events department – Patti McKee, 7788709, pmckee@chilesgroup.com or Luis Ortiz, 778-8712 lortiz@chilesgroup.com – for wedding date availability and all other questions. THE SUN 21 22 THE SUN www.amisun.com A beachfront wedding Your dream can come true at the Sunset by Gulf Drive Cafe. The waterfront venue is one of Anna Maria Island’s most appealing sites for wedding celebrations. Located at the south end of the island, Gulf Drive Cafe overlooks sugar-white sand beaches, the Gulf of Mexico’s turquoise-emerald waters and multi-colored horizon during sunset. The Gulf waves provide a picturesque backdrop when saying, “I do.” It has several options when considering where to exchange your vows. The most popular feature is tying the knot near the coastline on a romantic sandy walkway of multi-colored rose petals. You may also choose to have the ceremony performed at the Windsail Pavilion or the Seastar Pavilion, several feet away from the beach. Both are sand-covered, open-aired secluded spaces surrounded by miniature tiki huts. The rustic Sunset Tiki is a reception space perfectly suited for groups over 50 people. It has a lovely marble dance floor for you and your guest to dance the night away! The wedding party and guests are also welcome to dance barefoot in the sand. You also have the choice of bar set up during the length of your reception for private use. A team of experts will work with you on creating your perfect tropical dream wedding. They offer several wedding packages to fit your budget and invite you to visit the property, sample their chef’s creations and learn more about the packages they offer.
