BLASHAUS Exclusive: Bass Clarinet Neck BCH2 Series II For twenty years, we have worked intensively with bass clarinet, and have recently developed our own bass clarinet necks. They are heavier than typical necks and are reinforced. Our Series II necks feature continuous S-curve pipes with precision-calibrated tube bends and thicker walls for improved energy flow compared to the Series I. Present and focused sound The bass clarinet has a marvelous warm sound which is unfortunately often covered in the ensemble, with its typical location toward the rear, and as a result of microphone decreases to compensate for other instruments with more intense volume levels. Our bass clarinet necks enable the player to transfer energy more directly and quickly to the instrument. The player can increase the airflow pressure, providing a more stable, solid playing experience. The result is a more present, focused, fatter sound that carries better in the space. The neck is also equipped with an adjustable register vent. The BCH2 Serie II is particularly well suited for expressive solo play and in ensembles with high stage volume levels. Medium Heavy or Heavy Heavy We developed two basic variations: The Medium Heavy, which is more rigid and has more mass than the original neck, and the Heavy Heavy, which is reinforced to the extreme and even more massive. Available as Selmer and Buffet models The BLASHAUS exclusive bass clarinet neck BCH2 Series II is available for all Selmer models and for today’s Buffet prestige models. More power from your instrument: an angle that fits you We offer 3 different angles as well: • Steep This neck angle corresponds as with the original Buffet prestige model, to play very comfortably while sitting. • Regular This neck corresponds to today’s open Selmer. This angle is recommended for soloists who play while standing. • Flat Flatter than the open original Selmer neck angle. This type is often preferred by saxophonists and doublers. The playing angle is similar to that of a saxophone. Two surfaces are available: noble silver or gold All models are available in different surface: • Silver (brushed silvered) • Gold (brushed gilded) The surface has also an influence on the sound: The gold plating causes tendentious a more full of seeds sound and the silver plating a brilliant sound.
