Butvar® Dispersions - Butvar Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) Resin
Butvar® Dispersions Butvar® Dispersions are a family of stable aqueous emulsions of plasticized polyvinyl butyral (PVB) that can be formulated as a performance enhancing additive or as a primary resin system in waterborne coatings. These film forming emulsions are cross-linkable with a variety of resin systems which allows formulators to gain the same widely known unique performance characteristics of PVB resins - adhesion, toughness and flexibility – to optimize performance while targeting for low VOC formulary content. Applications Gain the unique performance Temporary strippable coatings • • • • • Paint masking Spray booth coating Equipment protection Surface decontamination Chemical maskants properties of PVB in your waterborne coating formulations. Protective coatings •Leather coatings • Can coatings • Wire coatings • Packaging coatings • Paper coatings • Wallpaper coatings Carpet backing tie layer adhesive Paper barrier coatings Specialty binders •Carpet backing tie layer adhesive • Scrim reinforcements • Parachute/seat belt harness • Aircraft restraints • “Silk feel” for textiles Key Benefits •Adheres well to many surfaces • Toughness • Flexibility • Film former • Transparent • Dip, paint, spray or foam Aircraft restraints Temporary strippable coatings Butvar® Dispersions Gain the unique performance properties of PVB in your waterborne coating formulations.
