The Owens is thought to be a 1960 DeLuxe Express Cruiser model. About 5 years ago, owner Brandon was looking for a wooden boat. At the same time, a customer of Brandon’s auto repair shop was in the process of restoring this Owens when his restoration partner died suddenly. Not wanting to continue the restoration alone, the customer and Brandon worked out a swap of boat for automotive services. She has been on stands inside a storage unit in Nobleboro, Maine, ever since. The owner has a sales brochure from Glen Cove Yacht Service in Glen Cove, NY, and it is believed that she spent her life on fresh water in upstate New York. The boat appears solid, but some re-assembly is required. Comes with a 327 engine and transmission, not in the boat and not known to be original. All hardware thought to be there, though fuel tank is missing. (continued on page 2.) Winter 2014 Issue Color Preview: Page 1 of 12. Note: Print newsletter is B&W.
