Simple Search This feature is used if you do not have a home address or business information on the individual. Since you need the least amount of information to conduct a Simple Search, Lexis/Nexis and FEC reports are your best choices when conducting this search. They are broad regulatory databases and are comprehensive. Additionally, D&B will sometimes return a home address, which in turn can assist in the Advanced Search. The Simple Search view is divided into three frames on the screen: A. The frame on the left is where the search is defined and started B. The top right frame is used to present options from which to choose C. Once a choice is made in the upper right frame, the associated detail is presented in the bottom right frame 1) Click on the drop down box in the *Report section 7) Review the information in the Detail Report Frame to confirm it is your prospect 2) Identify the report to conduct your Simple Search (recommended are L/N, FEC, D&B, in that order) 3) Enter the last name, first name (first name initial will also work) 4) Enter the state (this only needs to be done if you are choosing L/N report) 5) Click on the Search button 8) Once confirmed click on the Advanced link in the top upper left corner 9) Complete the Advanced Search form 10) Don’t forget to fill out the optional fields 11) Go back to section II to begin your research and validating of the data 6) In the top frame click on the name of your individual NOTES _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 7 FindWealth Online Training Guide TM Strategically, you will want to use what you know about the prospect to pick a report category that is likely to match. This will help you establish the proper name, alternate street addresses and most importantly, appropriate choices for the city, state, and zip that can be used in the Advanced Search. Additionally, if you click on the Advanced Search link, the values from the last record viewed in the Simple Search will be used to populate the search fields of the Advanced Search view. 5. Organization Search In the Organization look-up feature, you can generate basic organizational profiles on corporations and foundations. The information returned can provide detailed information on companies, individual biographical data, property owned by the organization, charitable gifts made by the organization, Insiders, and board members. A. Start this by pressing the “Organization” link in any WealthEngine window B. Click on the link to be taken to the Organization Search page C. History Section The History Section is the storage and update section. You will be able to refresh and recall your individual searches or edit and delete the data found, create subfolders, combine records, delete searches, and filter on particular ratings. In addition, inside the history section, you can export your data results to import into your donor management system, create reports on a segment of your history or your entire history, or further refine your results. Your inner circle creation (your organizations VIP’s) is also found in the History section of your FWO account. NOTES _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 11 FindWealth Online Training Guide TM Cleaning up data Just click on the individual’s last name and your results will appear in the History Profile. Once the data appears, you will be given the option to delete data that does not actually belong to your person. See the example below for deleting data. For example, if you have found five Dun and Bradstreet records and four of them belong to your prospect and one doesn’t, just click on the in the upper right corner to actually delete that particular record. Therefore, when you print your PDF document, there will only be data in your report relevant to your prospect. This process can be done for every data source and the can be found on the right or left side of the match data. NOTES _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 12 FindWealth Online Training Guide TM Creating Reports There are now several standard PDF reports available for your use inside the history section. These reports can be generated on your entire history, your WebExpress results, a small screening, a sub-folder you created, or a set of filtered criteria. You can find the option on the right side of your history results. If you have done a small screening ad your results are posted in online, or you are a WebExpress client, it is recommended to view your results through the drop down folder option (don’t filter this group) and generate a Stats Report. The Stats report will give you an overview of your results, the match data sources for that group, indicate how many major gift prospects you have based on your P2G score, provide you with a gift table, and indicate the potential giving for that group. NOTES _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 13 TM FindWealth Online Training Guide Remember, if you are focusing primarily on major gift prospects, focus first on your P2G score 1-0 and then 1-1 thru 1-5. If you would like to produce a report for this group, begin at the History Search Page, indicate the folder, and use the optional rating criteria to drill down for that group.
