Up and coming actors nominated for Stockholm Rising Star Award
PRESS RELEASE OCTOBER 14 2014
Up and coming actors nominated for
Stockholm Rising Star Award
Actors such as Alicia Vikander and Nermina Lukac have previously been
presented the award. Now it is time for this year’s rising star to start shining.
The Stockholm Rising Star Award is granted an actor or actress who’s showing signs
of becoming tomorrow’s next big star. The idea is to give the actor an early career lift,
and to provide them with a vast movie industry network at the Stockholm
International Film Festival.
Last year the award went to Adam Lundgren, who had his breakthrough with Shed No
Tears.
The nominees:
Julia Ragnarsson (Stockholm Stories),
David Fukamachi-Regnfors (Gentlemen),
Iggy Malmborg (Something Must Break),
Saga Becker (Something Must Break)
Félice Jankell (Young Sophie Bell) and
Filip Berg (Stockholm Stories).
The jury is led by Anna Carlson, head of Teaterförbundet, and is otherwise made up
of; Jan Göransson, press manager Swedish Film Insitute; Lisa Rosengren, project
manager Film&TV-Producenterna; and actors Johan Rabaeus and Annika Hallin.

The 25th Stockholm International Film Festival November 5-16 2014.
Stockholm International Film Festival started in 1990 and is today one of the leading
competitive film festivals in Europe. The festival takes place every year in November
with more than 200 films from more than 60 countries. More than a festival: we
organize exclusive screenings and the popular Summer Cinema – an outdoor minifestival. Every year in spring the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior brings
the latest films to youngsters between 6 and 16 years of age.
WE LOVE FILM!
