We hope you are excited as we are to return to Dallas, Texas after twelve years for our 77 th
Annual Convention and 75th Championship Tournament scheduled for May 19-29, 2016. We
will be celebrating 75 years of Sportsmanship, Fellowship, and Friendship that we have
demonstrated over the years in our National Tournament.
We have made available the hotel information and entry forms. You may start making your
arrangements to be in Dallas, Texas for 2016.

TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS – FAILURE TO READ IS NO EXCUSE
1. ENTRIES CLOSE april 1, 2016. ALL ENTRIES MUST SHOW TEAM NAME,
FULL NAMES OF EACH BOWLER, TNBA AND USBC NUMBERS. ALSO
SINGLES & DOUBLES ENTRY MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL. NO ENTRIES
AT TOURNAMENT SITES.
2. All entrants must have TNBA and USBC membership cards prior to bowling.
Unattached TNBA membership cards may be purchased at the site at cost of $25.00.
USBC Membership cards may be purchased at a cost of $21.00. USBC rule 300C.
3. The Total Entry Fee must accompany the entry form with a certified check or money
order made payable to The National Bowling Association – Tournament Fund (TNBA
Tournament Fund). Do not remit cash. After an entry has been received, and dates
assigned by tournament management and not refused before preparation of the
schedule, the entry fee cannot be refunded (USBC Rule 314). An effort will be made to
sell spot(s). Prize fund checks must be cashed in 90 days; or will be voided.
4. Preferred dates will be granted when possible. When lanes are filled on requested dates,
the nearest open date will be given. Entries will be scheduled on a first come, first
served basis.
5. Average;
a. 2014-2015 highest USBC league average of 21 or more games.
b. If no average 2014-2015 use highest 2015-2016 USBC average at the time of
bowling for 21 or more games.
c. Bowlers with neither of the above averages must bowl scratch.
d. If 2015-2016 average for at least 21 games at the time of bowling exceeds
2014-2015 average by 10 or more pins, 2015-2016 average must be used
(Rule 319a, Item 2).
e. No USBC Sport Averages allowed.
f. No USBC Summer League Averages allowed.
g. Averages must be verified by June 15, 2016 and failure to do so will result in
disqualifications. Verification must be sent/faxed to the Tournament Director.
Verification at the time of entry is requested.
h. It shall be each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of his or her
average in handicap or classified tournaments, whether originally submitted
by the bowler, his or her captain or others. Failure to use the proper average
shall disqualify score if submitted average is lower than actual average
thereby resulting in a lower classification or more handicap. Prize winnings
shall be based on the submitted average if it is higher than the actual average
(Handicap Only).
i. Any Protest or correction pertaining to the prize fund results must be received
in writing within ten (10) days after the distribution of tournament unofficial
results.
6. The handicap shall be 80% using 220 scratch. Bowlers will certify their scores as being
correct at the completion of each game. Handicap will be figured on an individual basis.
7. At least one of the opposite gender/sex required for mixed team. Multiple entries are
permitted and you may sub multiple times in each event. When a bowler competes
more than once, his/her first appearance in each event shall count toward his/her all
events. Cash only once in singles and with the same partner in doubles. Must change at
least two players on the team to re-enter.
8. Bowlers entering All Events may enter the Handicap & Scratch division. However,
bowlers averaging over 219 may not enter Handicap All Events. Cash only once in All
Events Division.
9. Entrants cannot enter doubles and not singles or enter singles and not doubles. You must
enter both events. NO MIXED DOUBLES ON THIS ENTRY.
10. Entrants who qualified for a prize of $600 or more in any event in a Tournament
within the previous 12-month period, shall prior to bowling any event, report to the
Tournament Director the actual score, position won and amount of prize for possible
rerating. Any rerating will be done prior to the entrant bowling. USBC Rule 319e
applies to both male and female. Any bowler winning $600+ must provide their Social
Security Number to receive awarded prize.
11. (a) When a team captain secures a replacement, once the replacement has started
to bowl, the replacement must finish the event being bowled. (b) The tournament
committee reserves the right to accept or reject the substitute offered by the team
captain. (c) Teams or individuals who fail to appear on the lanes prepared to bowl as
schedule shall forfeit their entry, subject to the discretion of the tournament committee.
(d) Bowlers will certify their scores as being correct at the completion of each game.
(e) Provisional ball or frame will be used in situations where a foul or legality of pin
fall cannot be immediately resolved. (f) Errors in scoring must be reported to the
Tournament Director within 72 hours after games are rolled.
12. No unreasonable delay in the progress of any game shall be allowed. Should any
bowler or team participating in the tournament refuse to proceed with the game after
being directed to do so by the proper authorities, such game or series shall be declared
forfeited. Any bowler not ready to bowl when his or her turn comes shall be given a
ZERO (0) for that frame.
13. The Tournament Director reserves the right to disqualify any entrant not in compliance
with the rules of the tournament, TNBA and/or USBC. Premature termination of the
tournament brought about by war, national emergency or emergency causes relating
thereto or fire, natural disaster or any other reason beyond the control of TNBA
Championship Tournament shall cause, to the extent required hereby, all prizes to be
prorated in accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the
respective events up to the time of such termination.
14. Proper attire required. No headgear (hat, cap, etc.) Tournament Director reserves the
right to final decision on proper attire. Bowlers in Improper Attire will not be allowed
to bowl. Bowlers may be rescheduled, but NO refund of their entry fee.
15. It shall be each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of his/her TNBA and
USBC numbers. Using an incorrect TNBA or USBC number may be subject to
disqualification.
16. Tardy players will start in frame being bowled with zero being given for each frame
missed. If a team refuses to start because a full line-up is not present, they shall forfeit
all games that they decline to bowl. No blind scores shall be permitted.
17. Championship will be determined by the greatest total actual pin fall, plus handicap.
Prizes will be awarded to handicap division and actual division winners. There will be
at least one (1) prize for every 10 entries.
18. Current Professional Bowlers regardless of Classification will not be permitted
to bowl in TNBA tournaments. Past PBA/PWBA champions, regardless of
classification, may be permitted to bowl if their championship was not within the last 10
years. Former PBA/PWBA members who have not held a card for the past two (2) years
are eligible to bowl in TNBA tournaments.
19. Anyone working in the host-bowling center may not bowl in this tournament.
20. To sub you must be entered in at least one event as a pre-paid, other than mixed
doubles. Replacement bowlers must be made prior to the start of the tournament.

i. Any Protest or correction pertaining to the prize fund results must be received
in writing within ten (10) days after the distribution of tournament unofficial
results.
6. The handicap shall be 80% using 220 scratch. Bowlers will certify their scores as being
correct at the completion of each game. Handicap will be figured on an individual basis.
7. Any three-one or two-two combination may be used for mixed team. Multiple entries
are permitted and you may sub multiple times in each event. When a bowler competes
more than once, his/her first appearance in each event shall count toward his/her all
events. Cash only once in singles and with the same partner in doubles. Must change at
least two players on the team to re-enter.
8. Bowlers entering All Events may enter the Handicap & Scratch division. However,
bowlers averaging over 219 may not enter Handicap All Events. Cash only once in All
Events Division.
9. Entrants cannot enter doubles and not singles or enter singles and not doubles. You
must enter both events. NO MIXED DOUBLES ON THIS ENTRY.
10. Entrants who qualified for a prize of $600 or more in any event in a Tournament
within the previous 12-month period, shall prior to bowling any event, report to the
Tournament Director the actual score, position won and amount of prize for possible
rerating. Any rerating will be done prior to the entrant bowling. USBC Rule 319e
applies to both male and female. Any bowler winning $600+ must provide their Social
Security Number to receive awarded prize.
11. (a) When a team captain secures a replacement, once the replacement has started
to bowl, the replacement must finish the event being bowled. (b) The tournament
committee reserves the right to accept or reject the substitute offered by the team
captain. (c) Teams or individuals who fail to appear on the lanes prepared to bowl as
schedule shall forfeit their entry, subject to the discretion of the tournament committee.
(d) Bowlers will certify their scores as being correct at the completion of each game.
(e) Provisional ball or frame will be used in situations where a foul or legality of pin
fall cannot be immediately resolved. (f) Errors in scoring must be reported to the
Tournament Director within 72 hours after games are rolled.
12. No unreasonable delay in the progress of any game shall be allowed. Should any
bowler or team participating in the tournament refuse to proceed with the game after
being directed to do so by the proper authorities, such game or series shall be declared
forfeited. Any bowler not ready to bowl when his or her turn comes shall be given a
ZERO (0) for that frame.
13. The Tournament Director reserves the right to disqualify any entrant not in compliance
with the rules of the tournament, TNBA and/or USBC. Premature termination of the
tournament brought about by war, national emergency or emergency causes relating
thereto or fire, natural disaster or any other reason beyond the control of TNBA
Championship Tournament shall cause, to the extent required hereby, all prizes to be
prorated in accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the
respective events up to the time of such termination.
14. Proper attire required. No headgear (hat, cap, etc.) Tournament Director reserves the
right to final decision on proper attire. Bowlers in Improper Attire will not be allowed
to bowl. Bowlers may be rescheduled, but NO refund of their entry fee.

USBC numbers. Using an incorrect TNBA or USBC number may be subject to
disqualification.
16. Tardy players will start in frame being bowled with zero being given for each frame
missed. If a team refuses to start because a full line-up is not present, they shall forfeit
all games that they decline to bowl. No blind scores shall be permitted.
17. Championship will be determined by the greatest total actual pin fall, plus handicap.
Prizes will be awarded to handicap division and actual division winners. There will be
at least one (1) prize for every 10 entries.
18. Current Professional Bowlers regardless of Classification will not be permitted
to bowl in TNBA tournaments. Past PBA/PWBA champions, regardless of
classification, may be permitted to bowl if their championship was not within the last 10
years. Former PBA/PWBA members who have not held a card for the past two (2) years
are eligible to bowl in TNBA tournaments. Includes senior PBA
19. The minimum age is 55 at the time of bowling and all winners must provide verification
of their age.
20. Anyone working in the host-bowling center may not bowl in this tournament.
21. To sub you must be entered in at least one event as a pre-paid, other than mixed

Mixed Doubles
1. ADVANCED ENTRIES CLOSE APRIL 1, 2016. ALL ENTRIES MUST SHOW
TEAM NAME, FULL NAMES OF EACH BOWLER, TNBA AND USBC
NUMBERS. FINAL ENTRIES AND RE-ENTRIES WILL CLOSE AT LAST SQUAD,
SUNDAY, MAY 29, 2016 AT 3:00 P.M.
2. All entrants must have TNBA and USBC membership cards prior to bowling.
Unattached TNBA membership cards may be purchased at the site at cost of $25.00.
USBC Membership cards may be purchased at a cost of $21.00. USBC rule 300C.
3. The Total Entry Fee must accompany the entry form with a certified check or money
order made payable to The National Bowling Association – Tournament Fund (TNBA
Tournament Fund). Or cash (at tournament site only). After an entry has been received,
and dates assigned by tournament management and not refused before preparation of
the schedule, the entry fee cannot be refunded (USBC Rule 314). An effort will be
made to sell spot(s). Prize fund checks must be cashed in 90 days; or will be voided.
4. Preferred dates will be granted when possible. When lanes are filled on requested dates,
the nearest open date will be given. Entries will be scheduled on a first come, first
served basis.
5. Average;
a. 2014-2015 highest USBC league average of 21 or more games.
b. If no average 2014-2015, use highest 2015-2016 USBC average at the time of
bowling for 21 or more games.
c. Bowlers with neither of the above averages must bowl scratch.
d. If 2015-2016 average for at least 21 games at the time of bowling exceeds
2014-2015 average by 10 or more pins, 2015-2016 average must be used
(Rule 319a, Item 2).
e. No USBC Sport Averages allowed.
f. No USBC Summer League Averages allowed.
g. Averages must be verified by June 15, 2016 and failure to do so will result in
disqualifications. Verification must be sent/faxed to the Tournament Director.
