PRODUCT SHEET I Vessel Solutions for the Offshore Industry GIJON KNUTSEN KNUTSEN / WELL TEST SUPPORT WELL TEST FLUIDS TO TANKER Offshore transfer of stabilized crude oil from rig well test direct to DP2 tanker vessel during exploration drilling. The Knutsen fleet of product and shuttle tankers are built to receive, store and offload liquid hydrocarbons and other petroleum products. The vessels large fluid capacity combined with a bow loading transfer system provides a safe and effective solution for uplift and collection of well test fluids from offshore facilities. The ability to test a well’s producing characteristics has become extremely important. In many cases when a well is located offshore, companies will engage the services of a vessel to assist the processes and reduce environmental impact, offshore resources, logistics and project costs. knutsenoas.com/knutsen-subsea-solutions PRODUCT SHEET I Vessel Solutions for the Offshore Industry SOLUTION OFFSHORE During exploration drilling for oil wells, the planned well test is much depending of the oil quality. Based on the oil quality found, various problems can occur for example; lighting the flare if the oil is of low API or has lack of gas. In addition, oil with good API values can result in problems for example; because of previous fracking where later separation of water from the oil can cause a problem. If the oil is found to be of “non-flare” quality, offloading to a supply vessel in containerized tanks will result in an expensive and logistic challenged operation. Based on this Knutsen and several clients developed a system where a fleet of special shuttle tankers was equipped with a floating cargo transfer hose and an emergency disconnection system. The solution can reduce the potentially harmfulness of well testing to the environment while enhancing the overall financial efficiency of the well testing operation. In many cases, being able to offset the cost of the testing service through revenue brought in by selling the captured crude is of great advantage. The 35.000m3 storage capacity of the vessel also allows more extended tests than would be possible on a rig operating without the vessel. SERVICES -Oil / Fluid Transportation -Uplift of Well Test Fluids -Uplift of Production Fluids ADVANTAGES -Assist Fluid Logistics & relieves rig of hydrocarbon and well clean-up storage demands -Reduce flaring -Benefit of Single vessel solution v multiple PSV solution -Able to mix and sell recovered oil from tanker -Experienced offloading operational teams -Specialist equipment and engineered solutions for vessel and platform -Better weather and operational limitations -Overcome flaring challenges associated with variable hydrocarbon compositions -Safe operation with vessel positioned at distance from the rig FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT: Capt.
