SoLunar Controller User`s Guide Version 1.0
SoLunar Controller User's Guide Version 1.0 Thanks for purchasing the SoLunar Controller! The SoLunar controller supports 3 channels of either analog (0‐10V) or digital (PWM) dimming to control the light levels of 3 LED channels. There are also 3 channels to control external relays, which will be used to control the controllable power strip we are launching later this year. The controller comes programmed with a basic sunrise/sunset profile (Profile 1) which can be run as soon as the time and date are set. The channels can also be controlled manually. Then you can scroll to the desired channel using the down‐arrow key and select it with the check‐key. Next use the left and right arrow keys to select the desired level. It will be displayed in percent and a bar‐graph will be shown. Press the check‐key to accept the desired level. If your LED fixture is connected, you will see a change in light level. Use the left‐arrow key to return to the Main Menu. For Manual Control to work, make sure the Hold button has been activated/highlighted. What do I do next? Use the up‐arrow and check‐key to display the Status Screen. It should show the percentage levels you selected first. Then use the Check‐Key to return to the Main Menu. SoLunar User Guide v1.0 Build My LED 2014 How do I set the Time and Date? From the Main Menu, use the up/down keys to find the Clock Functions and then select with the Check‐ Key. Then set the Time and Date to the current local time. The Speedup key is used to test your profile and events without having to wait all day. Once you are done, use the left‐arrow key to return to the Main Menu. SoLunar User Guide v1.0 Build My LED 2014 What does each button do? The left‐arrow will get you to the Main Menu, and it is used to decrease the intensity in the manual control mode. The right‐arrow is used to increase the level in Manual Mode. The Check‐Key is used to select an item, and it will often return you to the Main Menu. The up and down arrow keys are used to navigate to the next or previous line, or to select items from a menu. Can I connect the USB cable to a computer? No, should use the AC power source included to ensure the lights run at full output. Future versions of the SoLunar will allow you to program the SoLunar with a computer program, but the current version is programmed on the SoLunar. How do I determine the version of the software? Select About from the Main Menu. SoLunar User Guide v1.0 Build My LED 2014 What does the About menu display? It displays the current version and date. How can I tell where I am in a menu? If it is on the left side then you can move the focus using the up or down keys. What is the Output Type and how is it changed? The output type is either an analog voltage (0‐10 volts) or a digital signal (PWM). The default is to use an analog voltage, but you can select the Output Type item from the Main Menu to change it. SoLunar User Guide v1.0 Build My LED 2014 Will I lose anything if I remove power? Probably not. Changes are backed up to internal flash memory and an internal power source will keep the clock running for several hours once the unit has controller has charged for 24 hours. However, if power is lost for an extended period of time, simply reset the date/clock to restore normal use. What is output Scale? This function changes the way the LED output corresponds to the commanded level. The log l evel corresponds to the way that human eye detects light. Try both and see which you like. How do I control the relay? NOTE: The Relay commands will be used when we launch the SoLunar Power Strip, so you can disregard them for now. There are two ways: Use the Relay On/Off function from the Main Menu, or use the RelayOn and RelayOff events in Profile.
