DAY ONE – Home to Miami
Travel from your home town to Miami, Florida where we meet
our fellow People-to-People participants at the hotel.
DAY TWO – Miami / Embarkation
Enjoy a panoramic city tour of Miami before embarking the
Adonia at the Port of Miami. We begin our iconic journey by
sailing overnight to Havana, the cultural capital of Cuba. This
evening enjoy a Welcome Reception onboard followed by an informative talk with details of the journey that awaits us.

DAY THREE – Havana
This morning, we dock in Havana. After breakfast, disembark
the ship and begin the cultural exploration of this beautiful city.
During the guided walking tour, pass through the four main
squares of ‘Havana Viejo’ (Old Havana): Plaza Vieja, San Francisco de Assisi, Plaza de Armas and Cathedral Square. Meet

restoration efforts in this UNESCO World Heritage Site are crucial to the city’s cultural pride and economic future. See Havana’s Capitol which looks amazingly similar to ours in
Washington D.C. Visit the San José Artisans’ Market, the city’s
largest craft market, where you have a chance to mix with the
locals as you admire their handiwork. A visit to the Havana
Club Museum of Rum is also included where you learn about
the rum-making process and enjoy a tasting of the final product! An authentic Cuban lunch at a Paladar will be included
during the excursion. You’ll meet the family and learn about
their journey to self-employment. (All meals included)
DAY FOUR – Havana
Disembark the ship for a full day’s guided exploration. See the
Plaza de la Revolución, a symbol of Cuba’s history and site
where Fidel Castro has addressed his people on many occasions. On the visit to Colón Cemetery, view the magnificently
sculpted tombstones, mausoleums and chapels adorning the
graves of Cubans from all walks of life. Lunch is included at a
Paladar and a local project featuring Cuban art / artists will be
visited. During a tour of an organic farm, meet the farmers and
learn how they grow a variety of plants, medicinal herbs and
seedlings, all of which impact the community’s employment and
health. Discovery continues with a visit to the town of Cojimar
where Hemingway used to spend his days. Interact with staff at
Las Terrazas Bar and hear stories of Hemingway’s fishing expeditions. See the marina where he kept his boat and Finca Vigia,
his previous home. (All meals included)
DAY FIVE – At Sea
Spend the day at sea. Join in cultural presentations, panel discussions and interactive workshops onboard to learn more
about the Cuban people and lifestyle. (All meals included)
DAY SIX – Cienfuegos
During this morning’s walking tour you’ll see why the city’s historic center, with its remarkable collection of French-influenced
Neo-classical buildings, is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. No wonder the Cubans call this shining port city La
Perla del Sur (the Pearl of the South). A highlight of the visit
will be a performance by the Cienfuegos Choir. Afterwards,
chat with the musicians in an open discussion to learn about

DAY SEVEN – Santiago de Cuba
The second largest city of Cuba, it remains as an important seaport to the island. During the excursion, see San Juan Hill, the
Moncada Barracks, the Bacardi Museum, Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, Antonio Maceo Revolution Square and the bustling city
center. A visit to the local citadel of San Pedro de la Roca, a
UNESCO World Heritage Site, exposes us to the most complete
and best-preserved example of Spanish American military architecture. Learn the story and importance of Cuba’s most revered
Catholic shrine from our guide as we visit the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de la Caridad del Cobre before returning to the ship.

DAY EIGHT – At Sea
The last day onboard is spent at sea, as we complete our 360°
circumnavigation of the island and return to Miami across the
Florida Straits. Attend a cultural awareness session or watch a
film about Cuba’s Golden Age. This evening, enjoy the farewell
dinner onboard. (All meals included)
DAY NINE – Disembarkation in Miami
Following breakfast, we disembark at the Port of Miami with
wonderful memories of Cuba and its people as we continue on
our journey home. Flight should depart Miami after 1:00p.m.

Since the Cultures of Cuba Cruise is not covered under Mayflower’s Travelers Protection Plan, we
make available and highly recommend that you purchase the MH Ross Travel Insurance Plan to
protect your investment. Policy and enrollment information about the MH Ross Travel Insurance
Plan will be enclosed with your deposit receipt.
Passport & Visas
Each U.S. citizen must have a valid passport. Expiry date of passports should be at least
6 months after the return date of the tour. If you don’t have a passport, call our office
and we’ll tell you how to apply for one. A travel visa is required for entry into Cuba for
U.S. citizens and is included in the cost of the program. Holders of non-U.S. passports or
anyone born in Cuba who is a U.S. citizen have different entry requirements. Please contact our
office for entry requirements BEFORE making your reservation. NOTE: Due to airline security measures, your passport name must match your airline ticket name and your tour reservation name or
you may be denied aircraft boarding.
