U.S.S. MIDWAY MUSEUM
Tuesday, September 30 | 10:15-5:00 pm | $29/$32
The USS Midway Museum guarantees a once in a lifetime opportunity for almost everyone. Guests
experience what it was like to be part of a “city at sea,” explore galleys, officer’s country, sleeping
quarters, and the engine room of the first Navy ship too large for the Panama Canal! Visitors are
amazed by the 4-acre flight deck and the 360 degree panoramic view of downtown San Diego, over 60
exhibits, 27 restored aircraft, optional flight simulators, videos, climb-aboard aircraft, outdoor café
and gift shop. Admission also includes a self-guided audio tour, featuring USS Midway veterans as
narrators. Activity Level: Moderate
CORONADO NARRATED WALKING TOUR
Friday, October 17 | 9:30 am-4:00 pm | $46/$49
Nancy Cobb, tour leader and resident of Coronado for 34 years, will regale us for 90 minutes with fact
and fantasy as we stroll through the neighborhoods of Coronado. She will fill you with more than one
hundred years of history, gossip, a ghost story and a murder mystery or two. We start at the vacation
home of John D. Spreckels, wander past the famed Hotel del Coronado, the beaches, the mansions and
storybook cottages. There isn’t a minute that will not be filled with the marvelous stories of a bygone
era....A lot of time for lunch, beach sitting and shopping in the charming town of Coronado. Activity
Level: Moderate
HILLCREST LANDMARK CINEMAS

The Hillcrest Cinemas, with five screens, represents the city’s largest theatre complex dedicated to
independent film and foreign language cinema. Located on the second floor of the Art Deco-influenced
Village Hillcrest shopping complex on Fifth Avenue between University Avenue and Washington Street,
there are many fine restaurants to choose from. There is time to explore shops. Movie titles will be
given to you on the bus. If you love independent films, join us! Activity Level: Easy
BRIGHT STAR AT THE OLD GLOBE THEATRE

BALBOA PARK CENTENNIAL WALK
Tuesday, November 4 | 9:30 am-4:00 pm | $36/$39
Narrated group walking tour as a group. Please join us for lunch on your own at The Prado
Restaurant. You’ll have time to explore museums with free admission the first Tuesday of the
month: Reubin H. Fleet Science Center, Centro Cultural de la Raza, San Diego Model Railroad
Museum, San Diego Natural History Museum and the Timken Museum of Art, which is always free.

CANTERBURY GARDENS & GIFTS

Canterbury Gardens & Gifts is situated in Escondido on the site of an old winery with lovely rose
gardens and an inviting gazebo. Owners, Dave and Al, have fashioned the store into a visual
feast for the senses. Canterbury Gardens & Gifts is renowned for its large selection of quality
merchandise. Jump start your holiday shopping a week before Thanksgiving weekend! Activity

CHRISTMAS IN LITTLE ITALY TOUR
Saturday, December 6 | 12:15-7:00 pm | $75/$79
Little Italy, San Diego, is alive during the Christmas season. Eighteen blocks of Christmas lights
illuminate this 206-acre neighborhood. Stores are decorated for the holidays with care and
brimming with culinary treats and imports from Italy. After a welcome from your Italian guides,
enjoy a hearty lunch and festive desserts at Little Italy’s oldest restaurant. Free raffle tickets
will be given to each guest. A live musical performance will ring in the season. Italian Christmas
traditions are presented by our expert lecturer from the Italian Cultural Center. Visit an historic
Italian church to see life-size nativity scene, watch the lighting of Little Italy’s Christmas tree, and
have time to browse shops on your own. Activity Level: Easy
WELK CHRISTMAS SHOW, “WINTER WONDERETTES”
Wednesday, December 10 | 9:45 am-5:30 pm | $89/$93
It’s Christmas and the Winter Wonderettes are back! The girls are entertaining for Harper’s
Hardware Holiday Party when suddenly Santa goes missing, and the girls must use their talent
and creative ingenuity to save the day! Help the girls save the holiday party by singing along to
“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Run Rudolph Run,” “Winter Wonderland” and
other seasonal favorites! Prior to the show, enjoy an included, tasty buffet lunch with champagne
at the Welk Resort. Activity Level: Easy
LIONS, TIGERS & BEARS - A BIG CAT & EXOTIC ANIMAL RESCUE
Happening in January
The beautiful Lions Tigers & Bears ranch is located just outside of Alpine, California in sunny
San Diego County. The ranch is 93 acres in size. There is a volunteer office, barn, farm animal
encounter area, and of course the enclosures for our rescued big cats. Part of the barn serves as
an onsite medical care center which will allows us to perform routine medical exams and minor
surgeries without transporting the cats. Activity Level: Easy

CREDIT AND REFUND POLICY:
1. If, for any reason, a trip or event is cancelled by the Active Adults Trip and Event Coordinator, or the YMCA, you will be issued a
refund check by mail.
2. Please allow 14-21 working days for refund check processing.
3. RESERVATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF A GROUP RESERVATION DEPARTING FROM THE YMCA GYM
ENTRANCE MUST BE CANCELLED 14 DAYS OR MORE PRIOR TO THE TOUR DATE ON ONE-DAY TRIPS IN ORDER TO
RECEIVE A REFUND. Inside 21 days, you will not receive a refund unless you are able to find a replacement.
4. RESERVATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE MEMBERS OF A GROUP RESERVATION DEPARTING FROM LA COSTA PARK &
RIDE MUST BE CANCELLED 14 DAYS OR MORE PRIOR TO THE TOUR DATE ON ONE-DAY TRIPS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A
REFUND. Inside 14 days, you will not receive a refund unless there is a waiting list or you are able to find a replacement.
5. NOTE! FOR THEATER TRIPS, TICKETS ARE PURCHASED UPON REGISTRATION. NO REFUNDS AVAILABLE.
6. A check or credit card refund will be charged a $10.00 processing fee per person. Check refunds can only be issued for amounts
over $20.
7. On many overnight trips, no refunds inside of 75 days from departure; however, very often cancellation policies vary. Please call

8. Passengers needing any form of personalized assistance must be accompanied by an individual who will take full responsibility
for those needs during the tour and in the event of an emergency.

ACTIVITY LEVEL EXPLANATIONS:
Easy: Limited walking, or walking and mobility is at your own pace, and leisurely free time is included. Few stairs are involved and
elevators are usually present at destinations.
Moderate: Some stairs and/or inclines are present at destination. Moderate walking is required. Elevators may not be present at
all destinations. Persons of limited mobility should consult with a physician as to the appropriateness of this tour in relation to their
physical abilities.
High: Considerable walking and/or numerous steps involved, possibly on uneven surfaces. No elevators are present at destination.
This tour is considered inappropriate for persons with mobility limitations.
