Make a Difference Campaign Rodney Balcer 214-551-5629 Supported and ~CA Chamber of Commerce I am asking you to support to benefit two charity events in and for Ponca City. T:he goal is to raise funds for chari,ty while raising the awareness and involvement of people in the community to Make a Difference in Ponca City. Two events are being planned: Make a Difference Concert at the Poncan Theatre, October 3rd 2013 and Make a Difference Golf Tournament at Lew Wentz Golf Course October 5 th , 2013. All proceeds will go to charity. The lead charity, the United Way, will receive 50% of the proceeds. The other 50% will go to a local' civic organization based on their involvement level and participation in helping us promote the events. (These events are described in detail for you on the following pages.) Why am I organizing these charity events? I am honoring the memory of my father, Carl Balcer, who passed away in October last year. Carl Balcer Made a Difference in Ponca City and in the lives of many people's living in Ponca City. I hope my efforts will continue to Make a Difference and encourage others to do the same. (Details regarding his lifetime contributions are described for you on the following pages.) The local United Way and Chamber of Commerce have both endorsed these charity events . But to make this a success we need your help. With your sponsorship donation we can Make a Difference in Ponca City. Thank you for your consideration. Two major improvements implemented, while he was mayor, were the addition of paved cart paths and a watering system. He believed Lew Wentz Golf Course, with its lakeside location, to be one of the best courses in the area. Last week, through private funding, a tee marker was placed on 'hole # 15, at Lew Wentz Golf Course, in honor of Carl Balcer's six decades of public service to Ponca City.
