How we build reality
How we build reality Z+F LaserControl Z+F LaserControl Zoller + Fröhlich GmbH (Z+F) is a leading manufacturer of finest laser scanning devices worldwide. Our Z+F IMAGER® 5010 rapidly delivers high-resolution measurement results within very short time and a 360° horizontal / 320° vertical field of view. With a maximum data acquisition rate of over one million pixels per second it is the most powerful device on the market. Z+F LaserControl provides all necessary tools to manage your scan jobs efficiently. It is a unique software solution with complete workflow from data capturing to delivery. Three different software packages are available for getting the ideal solution according to your needs. Elements • Viewer • Scanner Control • System Check • Measurement Functions Professional Professional PLUS • Viewer • Scanner Control • System Check • Measurement Functions • Viewer • Scanner Control • System Check • Measurement Functions • Target Registration (Paper- / Auto- / 1-Target) • Filter Functions • Import / Export • Slice Function • Kinematic • Color Module • Plane Tool • Target Registration (Paper- / Auto- / 1-Target) • Filter Functions • Import / Export • Slice Function • Kinematic • Color Module • Plane Tool • Orthophotos • Video-Plugin • Mirror Filter • Cloud-to-Cloud Registration • Traverse Registration • Linktool Optional Module: • Plane-to-Plane Registration with Bundle Adjustment Forensics • View-from-Eye • Shot Trajectory • 3D Movie / Fly Through 2 Elements Elements Z+F LaserControl Elements is the freedom to view and browse your point cloud data without any cost. Besides checking the accuracy status of the device calibration, basic measurement functions are implemented. Furthermore it is the key to access and operate all Z+F products of the entire Z+F IMAGER and Z+F PROFILER family. Download your free version of LaserControl Elements at www.zf-laser.com or contact your local Z+F partner. Viewer Measurement Functions Direct Scanner Control Opening a scan, the data is displayed in a high-resolution 2D grayscale view (intensity image). Viewing point clouds from different positions is very easy. Point size and subsample rate are user defined. There are different measurement functions integrated in Z+F LaserControl Elements, to define distances in 2D and 3D very quickly, for instance the height of a room. All measurements are stored in layers and can be displayed at any time. Z+F LaserControl supports the entire control of the scanner hardware (Z+F IMAGER series). Direct TCP/IP comunication with the scanner device and FTP download to your PC of onboard stored data give best flexibility. 3 Professional Professional 4 Z+F LaserControl Professional is the solution delivered with every laserscanner of the IMAGER and PROFILER series. A suite of filters allow differentiated preprocessing of scan data and are the key to a highly accurate registration. By adding colour information with the included color module the scan data is ready for post-processing through a wide range of export formats. Naturally all LaserControl Element features are included. In addition the Kinematic function gives extended usability for profiling applications. Filter Slice Target Registration The filter functions will optimise your point cloud quality. Z+F LaserControl generates a mask for each filter, which just marks the filtered points in a certain colour. The filters will not delete any point. The tool box allows individual filter settings. Z+F LaserControl calculates predefined slice from a point cloud. These can also be displayed in the 3D View or exported in dxf- or txt-format. Free slice orientation allows optimum placement to the object geometries. Z+F LaserControl Professional is equipped with all common registration functions. The workflow includes the definition and naming of identical points, the calculation process and the generation of a registration report. Automatic registration with Z+F AutoTargets shortens registration time up to a factor of five. Color Module Kinematic Import / Export Photo mapping leads to a better and easier interpretation of the point cloud. For more information please see page 6. From simple measurements to complex clearance functions the kinematic module offers tools to manage and analyze 2D scans from mobile mapping applications. Z+F LaserControl provides a large range of import / export formats. For detailed information please see page 7. Professional PLUS Professional PLUS Z+F LaserControl Professional PLUS gives extended functions for registration, additional data visualisation and project management tools. Both, form sensitive Cloud-to-Cloud and Plane-to-Plane registration decrease dramatically the need of targets. Saving time in the field and in the office are the striking benefits of these future orientated registration tools. Furthermore fly throughs can be generated, simulated and saved. Your static imagery can be rectified and printed to scale. The relocation of misplaced data with the mirror filter is the right tool to bring your point clouds to perfection. Finally the linktool offers you best usability for project management. s e eu ld! N Bi Orthophotos Linktool Plane-to-Plane Registration* Orthophotographic views are easily set with this feature. Selected points are projected onto a user defined plane. This enables you to generate orthogonal views and scaled floor plans. The graphic results can be exported into various file formats. With the link-tool it is possible to link external files like pictures, documents etc. at any position of the scan. These files will also be added to the project-structure and vice versa all information of a scan-project can be digitally added to the scan forming one unit. In addition to that it is possible to add notes into the scan. The algorithm uses identical planes, and if necessary, points in the overlapping range of two adjacent scans. The accessible neighbourhood accuracy is at submillimeter scale. Automatic plane detection is done separately for each scan; a matching algorithm finds plane identities. Registration is divided into pairwise transformations and a concluding block adjustment. Cloud-to-Cloud Registration Mirror Filter Video-Plugin The user will provide an approximate alignement through preregistration stage, either manually in 3D or with a simple mouse-click within the 2D environment. In just one more step the automatic registration is completed. In some cases, scans may contain misplaced data due to the presence of highly reflecting surfaces, e.g. thermo-insulated windows, glass or mirrors. This tool allows the relocation of these points onto the mirror plane! This plugin allows to fly through a point cloud in 3D view. The selected trajectory can be stored and reloaded even after manipulation of the current data set. 5 * optional feature Additional Modules Forensics Shot Trajectory View-from-Eye 3D Movie / Fly Through A tool to calculate a possible area within the 3D point cloud where the shot was fired from, just by some mouse clicks. Only a rectilinear flight pass is calculated without any ballistics. Any position within the point cloud can be taken and a viewfrom-eye can be simulated. A very powerful tool to verify what witnesses or suspects could or could not see from their position. Take the crime or accident scene into the court room instead of taking the judge, the lawyers and the jury out to the crime scene. A flight through the point cloud can be created which gives a realistic 3D impression of the scene. Color 6 Our philosophy is to be a constant partner to the users of our products. The Forensics module is a customised product that matches the high standards as of the German police. Using 3D data enables forensics experts to visualise crime scenes to simulate a sequence of events. Besides existing functions for the 2D and 3D visualisation, the module offers additional features to analyse the crime scene e.g. shot trajectory or view-from-eye. Even after years a reconstruction of the scenery is feasible to verify new evidence. An ideal base for object visualisation is obtained by combining 3D data with digital photography. Recognition and analysis is much easier through visual illustration rather than geometric characteristics. In addition, colour information includes a documental value, which is interesting for certain applications. A connection of both survey methods can be realised when the laser scanner is equipped with a digital camera, which detects pictures in addition to the scan process.
