NWSA News November 2014 NWSA NEWS Northwest Saddlebred Association The Northwest “ Shows” Shows Off in 2014 B eginning with the AHACO Spring Show in Boring, OR and ending with the ultimate showcase of the NWSA at The Fall Classic in Eugene, OR, the Northwest certainly knows how put on a horse show for exhibitors and spectators alike. In May the NWSA members traveled to Monroe, Washington to join forces with the Morgan Horses at The Key Classic Benefit. This show is always a favorite among the group. With the welcoming atmosphere from the Morgan exhibitors and the encouraging crowd in the stands, this show is quickly becoming an NWSA tradition. A highlight and much anticipated event of the week is “Muffins For Mom.” This is a fundraiser for the NWSA Youth Club and run by Board member, Jody May and NWSA Youth President, Katie May, Muffins For Oso Moms is way for horses show goers to honor to the special ladies in their lives on Mother’s Day and support the Youth Club. This year the fundraiser was dedicated to Muffins For Oso Moms. Another fantastic event at Key Classic is the Youth “Tail” Gate Party, where NWSA and Morgan Youth come together to educate and get to know members of local 4-H Clubs. This outreach event is the brainchild of Jody May and carried by the NWSA Youth Club members, Katie May and Caitlyn Schroeder. The entire NWSA is thankful to those who helped make this show a fun and positive experience for the NWSA and look forward to making many Key Classic memories. June brought another opportunity to join forces with the Morgans to create a northwest “super show.” This time, with the guidance of Show Manager and NWSA President, Anne Byers, the NWSA was asked to participate in the most prestigious Morgan Show in the Northwest, if not the West Coast. Held in Redmond, Oregon this show provided a wonderful opportunity for the NWSA community to fill a longstanding void in the show schedule during the month of June in a way that members could not have imagined. The Morgan clubs are known for putting on first class horse shows and the NWSA was proud and thankful to be a part of it. Another new show for the NWSA was on the schedule for July. This time the organization had the opportunity to take part in a show that has been on the NWSA’s “bucket list” for years. The existing hunter/jumper show, The Country Classic held at Hunter Creek Farm in Wilsonville, Oregon asked the Saddlebreds to be a part of their show. It doesn’t get any better than getting to enjoy your American Saddlebred in a picturesque outdoor setting with an adoring crowd in the Portland Metropolitan area. This show should be must do on everyone’s calendar in 2015. Another group favorite took place in August, The C-Fair Charity Horse Show. This multi-breed horse show in Monroe is always at the top of the list when it comes to longstanding NWSA Horse Shows, drawing stables from all over Washington and Oregon and Canadian stables from both British Columbia and Alberta, literally making this show an International Event. Exhibitors and spectators are treated to the perfect Northwest summer weather at a first rate facility with top horses and riders in North America. Who doesn’t want to show off their Saddlebred to a crowd of hundreds of people who cheer throughout the entire class? The Oregon State Fair in Salem, Oregon gives NWSA members a venue to share the wonderful breed to many different types of people. An everlasting tradition among several Northwest stables, including Corbett Stables and Deardorff Stable LLC, the Oregon State Fair provides the NWSA with the tools to expose the general public to the magnificent American Saddlebred at the grassroots level. As a rule of thumb, you always save the best for last, and the NWSA undoubtedly delivered this year. The NWSA Fall Classic and Futurity Horse Show was literally one for the record books. As overheard by many people on the rail and in the stands at the show, the overall quality of this year was as good as it has ever been. The Open Five-Gaited Jackpot class was packed full of some of the nicest horses, not just on the west coast but in the country. With competitive workouts in both the Adult Show Pleasure Stake and the Amateur/Juvenile Five-Gaited Stake, Judge Robert Gardiner not only had his work cut out for him but also entertained the excited crowd. As always, the hospitality was unparalleled. Beginning with the Welcome Cocktail Party at Mauricio and Dana Paparo’s world renowned restaurant, The Excelsior Inn and ending with the much awaited Pie and Ice Cream Social during the annual Dog Show, there is not a more hospitable horse show in the country. For the second year in a row, Martha Keck, was the Show Chairman and Marc Hevern was the Show Manager and were the driving force behind the tremendous success of this horse show. The NWSA experienced new shows and new venues in 2014 and also enjoyed the existing shows and traditions of the established venues. 2015 is sure to bring even more opportunities and experiences to enjoy, promote and share the magnificent American Saddlebred. WWW.NWSADDLEBREDS.ORG Page 1 NWSA News November 2014 Letter From Your Fall Classic Chairperson Dear Members of NWSA, I want to thank everyone for their participation and support of the 2014 Fall Classic and Futurity Horse Show. The classes were full, the hospitality was abundant, and the weather was perfect! The Oregon Horse Center worked tirelessly to provide a venue for which we could be proud. There were many volunteer hours spent producing this show. I want to personally thank our wonderful officials. They are truly the best in the country. Additionally, this show could not survive in it’s current form without the tireless efforts of the following individuals – Peggy Kelber, Bailey Freeman, Sally Unterseher, Heidi Cuddeford, Dana and Mauricio Paparo, Karen Lachman, Cathy Sauer, Allison Deardorff, Linda Seiders, and Anne Byers. Thanks to all of you. We are already making polling our trainers, board, and vast majority of respondents would like to announce that the September 17-20th. plans for next year’s Fall Classic. After officials, we have concluded that the support a move to earlier dates. I dates for the 2015 Fall Classic will be We will continue to strive to provide the quality of show that our exhibitors have come to expect. We have received overwhelming support from our exhibitors near and far about the hospitality and positive nature of the Saddlebred folks in the Northwest. They thank us for our hospitality and effort to bring the “fun” in the horseshow to the forefront. These will remain our goals as we look to next year. Thank you to all our exhibitors, sponsors and volunteers who made it possible. Sincerely, Martha NWSA Ed and Janet Ross Special Service Award T onight we are going to divert from the tradition of honoring an individual with the annual NWSA Ed and Janet Ross Special Service Award in that we are going to present it to a very deserving family. I am sure they will be uncomfortable being in the spotlight tonight but the members of this unpretentious family have been supporting our association and its activities for many years. They are so quiet and unassuming at horse shows that you would never know what they do unless someone told you. They just aren't big on bragging. Let's begin with the head of the family. He is a true gentleman, modest yet when asked to help, he goes beyond the call of duty. For example, he has been involved in several aspects of our Fall Classic Horse Show whether it is helping to set up center ring, serving at Saturday's Pie and Ice Cream Social or cleaning up the stands--the dirty work--after a performance at the show. As an exhibitor, he started out with several top Morgans but his all-time favorite horse was a Saddlebred Country Pleasure Driving Horse named Hopeful's Sensation. Together he and "Dusty" showed 40 times winning 33 classes. On the other hand, his wife of 63 years has been a loyal and tireless supporter of our industry in HER unpretentious way. As we all know, horse shows need everyone in all facets of participation. She can always be seen sitting in the stands for an entire performance whether it is freezing cold or unbearably hot cheering on friends, family or competitors. In fact, when they first got involved in showing horses and before it was fashionable to have professionally tailored riding suits, she made not only her daughter's show suits but also for any junior exhibitor who was in need. Still another member of this horse-oriented family is directly involved in the industry. Thanks to her parents' introduction, horses have been part of her life since she was 13 years old. For the past 10 years, she has helped conduct our Junior Judging competition, handed out ribbons in center ring, organized our Dog Show and our Aisle Party. Earlier this year, she was elected to our NWSA Board; as the 2014 Youth Advisor, overseeing the activities and events for our junior members. Even though she is a dedicated volunteer, she does take time out from her projects at shows to watch her youngest daughter whenever she enters the arena on her Saddlebred Pleasure horse. In fact, she is an accomplished equestrian herself and catch-rides ever so often. Tonight it is indeed a pleasure to introduce this family--three generations actively involved with the breed of horse and an industry that they love— Tom & Pat Hanthorn, Heidi and Carly Cuddeford. Their friends and trainers for 31 wonderful years, Don and Brooke Deardorff, are here to present this special award on behalf of Ed and Janet who are unable to be here tonight. Page 2 NWSA News November 2014 Fall Classic in Pictures Page 3 NWSA News November 2014 Board Member Reports President: Anne Byers Please make note of this important update regarding the location of our Convention scheduled for February 66-7, 2015. 2015 The location of the Convention will no longer be at the Hilton at Seattle Airport as announced in an email to you last week. Instead, we will be moving back to our original location at the Bellevue Embassy Suites (www.embassysuitesbellevue.com), which is where we held our 2013 Convention. They have just notified us that they have delayed their major construction project until next Spring, and would welcome our NWSA Convention at their facility. We apologize for any inconvenience and took great care in evaluating this decision to ensure what is best for NWSA and our members. In the end, our organization will be saving money, provide our members and guests with free parking, great food and beverage, pet friendly facility, free breakfast buffet and Manager's Reception daily, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATES HAVE NOT CHANGED...ONLY THE LOCATION. Stay tuned for a detailed announcement regarding reservations and convention programming. We have a lot of great things planned and look forward to an exciting event for all. Outreach and Fundraising: Jody May From a sponsorship perspective, NWSA Youth remained the focus during this 2014 show season. Cash and in-kind sponsorships supported youth fundraising efforts for Key Classic (Tail Gate Party), C-Fair Basket Auction and Fall Classic Silent Auction and Dog Show. I am currently working on NWSA Convention Sponsorships and auction items. I assisted Katie May, NWSA Youth President in increasing participation in our Key Classic Tail Gate Party for outreach and we were excited that our attendance doubled this year. Three of our youth members conducted an educational presentation that was extremely well done! (Shout out to Caitlyn Schroeder, Stella Frechette and Katie May). There is still a lot of work to do however we inspired a new segment of young riders to become interested in our fabulous breed. This event was also an opportunity for our older youth to teach our younger ones and it was inspiring. NWSA Futurity: Allison Deardorff Though we only had a handful of young horses show in the Futurity, those that did certainly showcased a high level of quality. Prize money has been paid out to the participants and results have been turned into the ASHA. The Futurity Calendar production is underway and will be available for purchase in December. You may pre-order your calendars by emailing me at nwsaddlebreds@gmail.com. Youth Activities: Stephanie Schoenborn and Heidi Cuddeford The NWSA Youth were very busy at the Fall Classic this year. Here are some of the highlights: Junior Judging There were 10 youth that participated in the Junior Judging contest. Ribbons were given for 1st through 8th places. New this year was the presentation of the perpetual trophy to the Junior Judge winner, donated by Candy Dowdy. In addition 1st place received a $100 gift card, 2nd place a $50 gift card, and 3rd place a $25 gift card. Placing listed in the Youth News Section. Breakfast with the Judge The annual Breakfast with the Judge event was sponsored by the NWSA Youth this year. There were approximately 35 in attendance. The show judge, Robert Gardiner, was very informative and provided helpful and relevant feedback to every question asked. A big thank you to Mr. Gardiner, USEF Steward Barbara Zellner, MC Doug Cross, and Show Manager Marc Hevern. Annual Dog Show The NWSA Youth put together a fun dog show for all. With over 25 dogs entered (one dog in a very convincing goat costume) the competition was outstanding. The class list included, Best Costume, Obstacle Course, Performance (Walk, Trot, Canter), Best Trick, Best Groomed, and Most Photogenic. Prizes were donated by Mud Bay for Healthy Dogs & Cats. Katie May did a great job as the announcer. Thank you all who participated. Youth of the Year The 2014 Youth of the Year contestant presented her oral presentation and artwork to the NWSA Board of Directors. The winner will be announced at the Convention in February. Key Classic The NWSA Youth had a great showing at the Key Classic Horse Show this year. The Junior Exhibitor classes were the largest classes represented at the show. The NWSA Youth Group had some fun activities planned, a scavenger hunt, pizza party, and at the Tail Gait Party Katie May and Stella Frechette presented educational information on the topic of American Saddlebred shoeing to youth in the community, Morgan youth, and NWSA youth. Secretary and Vice President: April Richardson 2014 marks my 5th consecutive year serving our membership on the NWSA Board. This year I took on the responsibility of being both the NWSA Secretary and Vice President. As Secretary this year my responsibility was to take the minutes at each Board meeting, and report them back to the Board for approval. As Vice President this year I was instrumental in saving the club upwards of $400 on the design and purchase of the Regional Championship saddle pads that were awarded at the Far West Horse Show in Redmond, Oregon. Due to other commitments, I will be resigning my position on the Board of Directors at the end of this year, but I'm confident that my spot will be filled by someone who is equally as passionate about Saddlebreds and seeing our club be successful as I am. During my time on the Board I have learned so much about our members and the organization it takes to accommodate such a diverse group of people...you are all truly amazing in your own special way, and it has been my pleasure to be of service. Page 4 NWSA News November 2014 Board Member Reports Membership Outreach: Cathy Sauer Membership Outreach has continued to bring informational material to all the NW horse shows. During many of our meetings , members have requested forms to give to prospective new people in their barns. This has been an effective way to recruit new people. Pam Christensen: Silver Circuit The results are finally all in and the points tabulated. First, let me apologize for not publishing these sooner. There were many factors that contributed to me not feeling comfortable publishing the points. I did not want to publish inaccurate information. I still have some questions as to whether some people are members. So if you are not listed as a member and you are then please let me know. Also, if I mistakenly have you listed as a member and you are not then please inform me. We used a new system that was approved by a member committee this year for the points. It was based on the number of horses in the classes. This is similar to the way ASHA figures their points. See below for the new system. Points awarded as follows: Horses and/or riders receive 1 point for showing in the qualifying class and 2 points for showing in Championship/Stake. Remainder of points will be awarded based on horse/rider placing in the class and the number of entries in the class. All Championship/Stake classes will be awarded double points. In order to be eligible for points in a Championship/Stake class horse/rider must have been shown in an appropriate qualifying class. For example: In a qualifying class of 6, each horse/rider gets one point for going in the class. Horse/rider wins the class and is tied above 5 horses for a total of 6 points. Example: Class of 6 horses: Qualifying Class Stake/Championship 1st 6 points 12 points 2nd 5 points 10 points 3rd 4 points 8 points 4th 3 points 6 points 5th 2 points 4 points **AS/P 1 point 2 points **AS (Also Shown) or P (Participation) indicates horses showing but not placing. Example of class with 3 entries. Qualifying class Stake/Championship 1st 3 points 6 points 2nd 2 points 4 points 3rd 1 point 2 points Points for classes with a single entry will be awarded as follows. Qualifying class Stake/Championship 1st 2 points 4 points Also according to the Silver Circuit rules you must have shown in at least three different Silver Circuit approved shows to qualify for a year end high point award. Point totals in red denote non-members. The * beside names indicates horses/riders who competed in at least the 3 required Silver Circuit Shows and are eligible for the high point awards. If you have any questions please contact me and I will answer you the best I can. Who will win the TROPHY and a trip to PREMIER STABLES SUMMER CAMP? Page 7 NWSA News November 2014 NWSA Goes To Kentucky Showing in Freedom Hall is an unforgettably addictive experience. Three NWSA barns packed up and headed east to show at the “Big One.” Since starting the tradition of spending the summer in Kentucky in 2012, Deardorff Stable hit the road again this year. Britt Frome, Karen Lachman and Hayley Pullen returned to Freedom Hall and EVERYONE qualified to show back in their respective Championships, a feat that many who have been showing at Louisville for years have yet to accomplish. Kentucky is contagious! Both Lisa Lesch and Court Stables made the trip this year as well. Harry Chapman exhibited his road horse, Dakota Hummer in the Amateur Roadster To Bike. Lisa brought two top quality NW bred, born and raised horses. Celebration competed in the Ladies 5-Gaited and Angel Whispers Of Silver Oaks showed in the Ladies 3-Gaited. Lisa also received the “First-Timers” Ribbon which is presented to trainers and exhibitors who are competing and/or have brought horses to Louisville for the first time (Lisa, Wyatt and Deb Moreno are pictured below at the Ribbon Ceremony). It was evident that the Northwest was well represented on the green shavings and hopefully, we will continue to go forward. What Happens In Vegas...Goes In the NWSA News The NWSA was well represented in Las Vegas at the California Futurity Horse Show. Brenda Corbett Stables, Boettcher Stables, Deardorff Stable LLC, Arcuri Stables, Morris Stables, Far Niente “rolled the dice” and hit big in Vegas. Some highlights...Britt Frome’s Stewie Griffin was the big 5-Gaited Jackpot winner as well as the Open 5-Gaited Champion. Britt also expertly guided her, CH One More Kiss to win both 5-Gaited Show Pleasure Classes. Cashew and Hayley Pullen, no strangers to the winner’s circle took home the blue in the 5-Gaited Junior Exhibitor and came back to win the tri-color in the Amateur/ Junior Exhibitor. Karen Lachman put in great rides, as usual, on her horses CH Hubris and Kiss My Grits. Don Deardorff rode Doubletrees Distinctive, owned by Patrick and Kelle Howard to the red ribbon in the Park Pleasure qualifier. Martha Keck’s beautiful 5-Gaited mare, Queen Of The Nile ridden by Eduardo Castillo swept the Junior or Limit class. Always a fiercely competitive team, Peggy Kelber and The Vega earned the Reserve Championship in the super competitive Adult 3-Gaited Show Pleasure. Dana Johnson took her Western mount Caper’s Town and earned a second place in the competitive division. Brenda Corbett Stables made their first trek to Vegas bringing Katie May’s horses, FER Feel The Rush and Do You Want To Dance. Katie May has been a fierce Northwest competitor and was more than excited to have the opportunity to compete in Las Vegas. Morris Stables always brings home plenty of top ribbons from West Coast Shows and this show was no different. E-Ticket with Edward Morris won the Open Park qualifier for Edward and Kathi Morris. Deborah Perry expertly guided her horse, Yachting Class to win the Country Pleasure Driving Championship. Stark Raven and Leanne Asper earned the yellow ribbon in the 3-Gaited Show Pleasure Limit Rider class. Far Niente brought a quality group of horses and riders. Mel Lueck handled Georgia Knowlen’s Revival’s First Tango to a Reserve Championship in the Weanling Futurity. DonMicheal McDonald presented the same colt to earn the blue in the Amateur Weanling class. Arcuri Stables and Dr. Catherine Gallo brought a top string of horses to exhibit. Gallo and her new mount, Designed For Blue were an excellent team in the 3-Gaited Amateur class. Page 10 NWSA News November 2014 Board Meeting Minutes NWSA Board of Directors Meeting – July 31, 2014 The meeting was called to order by Anne Byers at 12:17pm Attending: Anne Byers, Cathy Sauer, Gail Erickson, April Richardson, Jody May, Stephanie Schoenborn Absent: Holly Bahr, Allison Deardorff, Pam Christensen and Heidi Cuddeford Minutes: Minutes from our Meeting at Key Classic were emailed out previous to the meeting and approved. Treasurer’s Report: Not available due to Holly Bahr’s absence from meeting Website Update: Not available due to Holly Bahr’s absence from meeting Newsletter – Allison needs everyone to turn in an update on what they are working on. News from the barns would also be great to add into the newsletter. Peggy mentioned that she would be willing to help with the newsletter while Allison is out of town, but she can’t do anything if no one is turning in information for her to report on. Membership Update – Gail just received two new memberships. She will email out a new updated membership count to the Board after this meeting. Directories were handed out at the Country Classic Horse Show in Wilsonville. Membership Outreach – Cathy has been taking membership forms to horse shows to try and drum up new memberships for the club. She has also been sending forms to the barns to make sure that all ASB owners have their membership up to date. Youth Group – The Youth Group is having a BBQ with the Morgan horse youth at C-Fair after the Friday morning session. The BBQ will be held at the Corbett barn, all are welcome to attend. The Youth Group is putting together their annual dog show and Breakfast with the Judge fundraisers for Fall Classic. They are also wanting to remind all the barns with youth that Fall Classic is the deadline for Youth of the Year submissions. Promotional Opportunities – This year at Key Classic Jody and Katie May put together the “Believe Basket” as a fundraiser. Corporate sponsorships are difficult because our audience is so small. Larger corporations want to see that they money they are donating is getting their name out to a large group of people than what we can currently offer. Charter Club – Charter Club has brought up a program called Select Series classes. The Board feels that the horses are already showing at our open all breed shows and that this program wouldn’t really work in our area. Silver Circuit – Points have been tabulated through the Far West Championship Show. She is still waiting for the results from Country Classic. The new point system is now being used for all the shows to give a more accurate picture. Pam had some questions concerning the Hunter Division and what classes should be counted towards the Silver Circuit Highpoint. After discussion we have come to the conclusion that only the Amateur Hunter classes will count for the year end high point, and that even though you can use the Open Hunter and Saddle and Bridle Hunter classes to qualify for the Amateur Hunter Stake, those classes cannot be used to go towards the high point. Other Discussion Items: Convention Speaker – It was discussed that we should try to have a speaker at the convention. Fall Classic Update – It was brought up that the membership feels that they are not very informed on our upcoming show. We need to find a way to make sure that this doesn’t continue as the membership should have appropriate avenues for getting the information that they need. For example our website, Facebook page, and newsletter. Meeting adjourned by Anne at 2:48pm Submitted by April Richardson NWSA Board of Directors Meeting – October 3, 2014 The meeting was called to order by Anne Byers at 12:30pm Attending: Anne Byers, Cathy Sauer, Gail Erickson, April Richardson, Pam Christensen, Stephanie Schoenborn, Heidi Cuddeford, Allison Deardorff, and Holly Carter. Member Present: Martha Keck Absent: Jody May Minutes: Minutes from our Meeting at C-Fair will be emailed to the Board after this meeting Treasurer’s Report: Holly gave a verbal report that the account has $15,000 in it and that she has 3 new memberships to deposit. This will be the first deposit since July. Website Update: The website is up to date Newsletter – A detailed discussion was held about lack of communication with information to be published in the newsletter. A due date of November 1st was established. It was acknowledged that this information was slow getting to Allison. Membership Update – Gail just received three new memberships. She will email out a new updated membership count to the Board after this meeting. Membership Outreach – Cathy has been taking membership forms to horse shows to try and drum up new memberships for the club. Youth Group – The Youth Group is having their annual dog show and Breakfast With The Judge fundraisers for Fall Classic. Tickets for both of these fundraisers are on sale at Fall Classic. There are also several opportunities for the youth from all barns to come and compete in youth judging contest to earn ribbons and prizes. We had one youth of the year presentation given by Stella Frechette that was simply fantastic. Her presentation sparked the conversation on how we can get more youth involved in our Youth of the Year competition. Gail offered the idea that a packet of information for Youth of the Year be given to each barn where they could then have the information needed to get their youth involved in the fantastic program. Promotional Opportunities – No report with Jody May’s absence Charter Club – The Charter Club Council is working on a manual that will assist groups in putting on successful breed promotion events. Silver Circuit – Points have been tabulated through C-Fair Horse Show. Pam is still waiting for the results from Oregon State Fair. She still had some questions concerning the Hunter division and what classes should be counted towards the Silver Circuit high point. After a second discussion we have confirmed that only the Amateur Hunter classes will count for the year end high point. Other Discussion Items: Convention – Anne was recently informed that the Embassy Suites had to cancel and refund our deposit for our scheduled convention due to an ownership change that will result in a huge remodel of the hotel. Anne has been searching all over the Seattle area for a location that fits in our budget with the desired dates that we are looking for. The one place that meets our needs is the Hilton By The Airport. Cathy has had come feedback from the membership that they want a speaker for convention. The Board will be considering a couple different options. We also briefly discussed a theme for our Convention – “Saddlebreds Shine.” This will be discussed more at our Board Retreat in November. Board Positions opening up – April Richardson and Gail Erickson will be going off the Board this year opening two positions. It was decided by the Board that the first board meeting after convention the retiring board members would attend in order to properly hand off their responsibilities to the newly elected board members. Board Retreat – The annual Board Retreat will be November 8, 2014 at the SeaTac Hilton. Meeting adjourned by Anne at 2:35pm Submitted by April Richardson Page 11 NWSA News November 2014 Show Me The Ribbons (KEY CLASSIC RESULTS, cont) Class: 41 - ENGLISH PLEASURE - OPEN Number of Entries that competed: 5 1 350 MINI COOPER STEVENSON, ROBERT & DEBORAH [1F17O7R8E30S]T NEALON 2 302 WINSDOWN ROLLING ROCK NOTTAGE, SALLY [92192] DEMI RUFFATTO 3 293 DOUBLETREE'S QUERIDA RICHARDSON, APRIL [116658] APRIL RICHARDSON 4 284 CROWN HIGH CALIBER HOBBS, KATHERINE [1386880] KATHERINE HOBBS Class: 43 - ASB FINE HARNESS - OPEN Number of Entries that competed: 1 1 265 PINNACLE'S MIDNIGHT EVENT ANTHONY, JILL & JAMES [109048] JILL ANTHONY Class: 46 - ASB ENGLISH COUNTRY PLEASURE Number of Entries that competed: 5 1 304 TEMPESTA MC CONNELL, KAREN [MEM] KAREN MC CONNELL [MEM] 2 260 PINNACLE'S PARTY GIRL WHITE, JACQUELIN [95289] JACQUELIN WHITE [95289] 3 247 CUSTOM BLEND BOGART, LINDA [119146JAS] LINDA BOGART [119146JAS] 4 293 DOUBLETREE'S QUERIDA RICHARDSON, APRIL 5 232 CH HOTROD HARLEY CORBETT, ANDREA [37179] SUZANNE HITZ Class: 52 - ASB SHOW PLEASURE DRIVING Number of Entries that competed: 2 1 486 PURE CHARM SUNRISE HILL FARM INC, ART & CATHCYAT SHAYU SEARU, 2 233 MR. The NWSA proudly sponsors beautiful purple necksashes that are awarded to the high point Saddlebred competing in an open competition show. All you have to do is give the name of the Show Secretary to Anne Byers, and she will contact them to see if they would be willing to keep track of each Saddlebred’s show results at their show and determine who the highest placing Saddlebred might be. We will mail them the necksash and simply ask that the winner be announced and have the necksash awarded at the show. Afterwards, we would like to know the name of the winning horse and rider and have a picture of them wearing their necksash so that we can help celebrate their victory! What a great way to promote the NWSA and show people the versatility of an American Saddlebred.
